As of today, MS allowing customers who put in a request to extend basic auth until Jan 1, 2023. You must put in a request via your tenant otherwise it will be turned off on Oct 1, 2022

have few followup questions: basic defaults such as username and passwords are not often changed, but tokens used for OAUTH2.0(advanced authentication) has certain expiry period. For existing big customers, reconfiguring apps every now and then due to expired tokens is troublesome and not having good user experience. any thoughts on that
