Huge gas explosion blows apart house but owner miraculously escapes unharmed

A HOMEOWNER had a miracle escape after a gas explosion blew apart his house.
A dramatic picture shows the two storey home in Bourne, Lincs, ripped apart at the foundations.
Bricks and other rubble can be seen piled up in the garden after the explosion erupted this morning.
Half the roof has also been torn off and only one window remains intact.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed a man escaped with minor injuries after the blast at around 9.13am.
They said he is a "little shaken" and revealed there were no other injuries reported.
Stunned neighbours today told how they heard a "big bang" as the blast ripped through the street.
A resident said: "The old boy was standing outside after the explosion and we heard him say it's safe for him to go back in because he'd turned the gas off."
A man, who lives opposite the house and wished to remain anonymous, added: "We're only the width of the road away. It was quite frightening."
A spokesperson added: "We are in attendance at what is believed to be a gas explosion on Holly Drive in Bourne.
"The scene has been assessed and it has been deemed that there is no need to evacuate any other houses.
"The house has been severely damaged.
"Fire and gas services are in attendance."
It comes after a father and son jumped from a blazing home after an "earthquake-like" explosion.
Mechanic Liam McLaughlin and his son Jack leapt through the flames from their staircase after a huge blast blew out the walls of their house in Illingworth, West Yorks, last week.
