Actually you can’t

Would love to see a "Best z690 ITX boards" as well as testing of which coolers actually fit. Seems to be very lack of information online which low profile coolers actually fit these new boards as the VRM and IO shields are very hefty on a lot of them.

The only issue with 12600K is that the Z690 motherboards are really expensive atm and you need window 11 to fully utilise the multi core function.

Optimum Tech: "Buying more than a 12600k for gaming is a waste of money"

Me with my 5950x playing valorant: "Yes, why would anyone do that?"

I'd absolutely get the 12600k but sadly none of the currently available itx motherboards are what I'm looking for or in my budget OR fit the cooler I've bought which is a shame. I'd continue waiting but I've literally been planning this build for a year now! (Building a creator-focused machine with need for thunderbolt and display port)

This video came out RIGHT after I build a new PC for my wife as a christmass present.
11400, b560, 6600xt, 16GB 3600 RAM.
Guess I did my homework, lol.

One thing - I bought a NZXT h1, just love this design soo much

I managed to build my computer for a fairly OK price, just had to wait 11 months for The GPU (but I paid only 930 euros)😂. Now I'm rocking 5900X and 3080 in NR200 case with 280 AIO and 32 GB of memory. Sweet Machine.

Great video. But I don’t agree with the statement to “stay away from the 5600g or 5700g” those CPU’s are a great option for those who would like to start building their pc’s with no graphics cards. light gaming is great on that thing. Games like Fortnite Valo, Minecraft run well.

I just picked up my new PC this morning and you are definitely right about the Australian GPU stock being available the whole damn shop was filled with 2080 supers, 3060's 3060Ti's 3070's and 3090's, they actually chucked in a 3060ti for me at retail price...

Specs:
CASE: Deepcool CL500
MB: Asus B560 Plus
CPU: Intel core i5-11400F
GPU: 3060Ti ROG Strix
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro
SSD: Crucial 1TB
HDD: Western Digital 4TB
MONITOR: Acer Predator XB1 144hz

They actually put all this stuff in for me, cause I said a list of games Im playing and said do what you think is best, since I was paying around $2900-3400 in cash they decided to discount most of the things, I'm glad they knew what they were doing...

Honestly bit of an oversight imo (or in case I'm wrong, please correct me). Why would anyone recommend the jump from the 12600 i5 to the 12900k i9 for production workloads, when the 12700k i7 sits perfectly in between while offering near i9 performance at a price point that is much more competitive, AND you get better thermals and a lower power draw. You have the same effective P core count with a few E cores missing, which won't make a big difference unless you absolutely need every bit of extra core you can throw at your multi-program work (which even for professionals is rarely the case). For what it offers, the i7 with a balanced overclock is gonna be the far better alternative imo even for professionals. I think the i9 in this generation of Intel CPU is very much a flagship CPU for the sake of being a flagship CPU. In real world performance for your money, the i7 beats it 95% of usecases for its worth. AND it is still quite a decent step up from the comparable 12th gen i5 chips for professional use especially.

Imo the 12700k i7 is very much a CPU that most reviewers have been sleeping on, simply because the i5 is so good bang-for-buck in this generation, while the i9 naturally being a flagship cpu thus gaining a lot of attention by default. The i7 seems to be a true gem for the best performance+cost+thermals ratio for people with a varied workload. Also keep in mind that higher thermals and powerdraw of something like the i9 also put an extra toll on your case airflow and all the other components that share the same air that's being heated up excessively by the i9 (for average high end users).

I watch a lot of PC gaming content, but when it comes to recommending a gaming PC build Optimum Tech is the best!

I’ve had my pc for a little over 2 years. Built it myself. Got most my stuff on sale. Got a ryzen 5 3600 on sale for 90 bucks and a rx 580 8gb for 130 dollars. New. Got 3200 speed ddr4 16 gig ram, an asus motherboard, and I got 500 gb of ssd for around 120 dollars. Cooler master case and a sceptre 144hz monitor for around 150 dollars. Got lucky on that one and it’s a great monitor. Great rig, the only upgrades I’ve made is that I literally just bought a noctua fan for airflow. It’s gonna arrive in like a day or so. Then I’m getting a keyboard that isn’t 15 years old and a new graphics card, most likely a 3060 ti

I got a hyper 212 and an asrock b560 for an 11400. I'm pretty happy with the value and definitely happy to stop the hunt. Gl to all of you guys still lookin!

I've been using 5700g with Integrated Graphics then later upgraded to an Asus Rog Strix RTX 3060 and honestly, it's a solid CPU. Able to run all 8 cores to 4300mhz @ 1.2V stable (4600mhz AC @ 1.35v) with IGPU disabled (display ports connected to dedicated GPU) which runs fairly cool for its low TDP of 65w.

Main things I want to address is that these APU have the pci set to PCI-E 3 on both the GPU and M.2 Slots. Been looking around on the differences between 3 & 4 but there hardly any performance difference outside of benchmarks. However, this does limit the increasing M.2 speeds going beyond 5000-7000+ and SAM/ Resizable Bar configurations since it requires PCI-E4). The CPU have a harder time running at higher stable clock speeds on reasonable voltages with the IGPU in use (you want to undervolt or have a low all core clock speed with overclock IGPU speed since the major bottleneck is the IGPU)
Another thing is that the L3 Cache is unified due to being a 5000s series unlike past gens which is split between half of its cores but G-series have much less L3 Cache than the rest (i.e 3600x, 5600x onwards) ESport Games [i.e overwatch, league, csgo, valorant, ] loves L3 Cache and is a major difference which can be 50 to 100+ more frames.

Technically speaking this is a 3600x with a IGPU with a lot of headroom once you no longer use the IGPU. The CPU bottleneck happens on GPU that perform better than a 3060 (non-TI) beside Esport titles. Major perk perhaps for some individuals is that you once you replace the APU it can be placed is very small cases such as the inwin chopin (3.3L) [Includes its own power supply] or Asrock 300x (1.92L) [Includes its own motherboard but uses so-dimm ram]. A decent LAN computer to bring on the go or have it as a desktop for your TV.

Greatly produced video as always. Problem with jumping to the i5-12600K is the cost of decent Z690 boards is a bit nasty. You can get decent B550 boards for half the price which starts to make the 5600x look significantly cheaper (like 30% cheaper). I'm hanging out for the i5-12400 with a b660 which will hopefully be a game-changer.

So it's that time of the year again, where we are all watching others on Youtube build unaffordable gaming PC's and enjoy it anyways.

I have been gaming for years and I have build alot pcs as a hobby, but I haven't build one since pandemic started so I was kinda shocked when I found out about gpu prices when I decided it's time to upgrade my rig.
