As a guy who has been working in the IT for the past 3+ years (plus in addition to that I have been primarily gaming since a decade now, and I also always cherish my near and dear moment of 2014 when I first build my custom gaming PC), trust me it's always a satisfying feel whenever you finish building your PC and and let the power button roll for the first time. It never gets old!
And the tips Eber gave are also the ones which I myself stress everytime when somebody is getting into the PC gaming scene: always do your research, be patient with buying your parts (and if you get a sweet deal from an ongoing offer, it's gg) and don't skimp on your power supply. It may sound like a broken record, but it really helps out in the long term.

Remember, you should do a grape size blob of thermal paste to make sure there is enough, also make sure your ram is side by side. You'll need tweezers (not those pinchy things the zippy ones), a swiss army knife that hopefully has a screw driver and an Allen wrench.
