Playing like they double-parked their tour bus.

Technique, groove, rudiments, are what all professional drummers have. But sound is unique, that's why I praise him

One of the last active badasses of that era of amazing rock drumming. One of the all time greats!

Matt Cameron probably plays the song at the exact bpm's the guys in the band ask him to play it. Those things are settled well before the gig, so I think it's not Matt's fault but Eddie/Mike asking.

Matt Cameron was put on earth to play the drums. Effortless groove, one of the best ever.

Living the life, drummer for Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

I wish we could see this perspective on Soundgarden's Jesus Christ Pose.

It’s a shame PJ doesn’t do more of what Matt’s strength is IMO...odd time grooves...he churned out amazing odd time grooves with Soundgarden

Been reading some of the posts around the tempo and thought to weigh in. I've got about 30 years of experience playing drums both in live and studio gigs and experienced both sides of the situation. Sometimes a band will opt to play a song faster simply because it sounds (and feels) better in a live situation than at the original tempo is was recorded. We've also slowed songs down when played live to get a heavier feel as opposed to the original recorded tempo. I fully agree that "in the heat of the moment", tempos can and do get pushed (I'm certainly guilty of this in my gigs at times) but Matt is a seasoned pro; this is no doubt a conscious effort on the band's part to push the tempo. It's actually nice to see they have the freedom to do this since they aren't locked into a click track or sequencer for this song and just playing "live"! It's a good discussion though!

Gotta admit though, for as fast as this tempo went, Matt's deep in the pocket with flawless fills.

Matt's fills are so unique. He has this great habit of throwing in unexpected accents - his tone is also very recognizable. You know immediately when it's matt cameron drumming

I have been lucky to see this kit master in both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Rock solid drummer!

So many great drummers among those 90s alternative rock bands: Cameron, Grohl, Kinney, Chamberlin, Abbruzzese. The list goes on.

Matt is my favorite rock drummer from the 90s. He has that finesse in his playing that sets him apart. It's really cool.

Dude, I’m a guitar player who plays other people’s drums from time to time when they’re left at my house. That’s my relationship to drums and even I know Matt Cameron is unbelievable. Wonderful precision without losing any feel. There’s a lot of Soundgarden songs where he’s doing some pretty tricky things too, always tastefully though. If I had to pick one drummer to build my own super group with I believe it would be MC.
