Police say 10 children were living in squalor inside this Fairfield home. Both parents were arrested.

Apart from the feces, which is outrageous, I am not surprised it was a hot mess. I know plenty of people with too many kids whose homes are a hot mess. I grew up the eldest of five siblings and our house was much worse than that, although we had no pets, thankfully. I hated it. The only way to have a good environment was to shut the door to my room, the only clean room in the house. My siblings were always wanting to come be in my room. If you tried to clean up it was impossible because six other people were messing the place up behind you. You have to be parents and have actual order and rules and a system and teamwork, or it will always look like that. I hope the kids find a better place to live and don't get abused in the system. It's very sad, tho, because chances are almost impossible of them ever being placed together. I used to wish someone would come take us out of the abusive squalor we lived in, but we actually survived and most of us ended up with decent lives. My family began with a teen pregnancy and my parents were never ready for it.

My mother in law raised 10 kids in her small 3 bedroom house and it was was spotless, and all the kids were made to do chores every day. Absolutely no need for this! Disgusting!

I honestly don't know how people could raise 13 kids and at least some of them being seriously neglected. You would need a team of maids and child care workers to even have a chance of them turning out half way normal.

This is ridiculous that place is small and with 10 children it should be immaculately clean. If you raise your children right put a little time and effort into your children they will do just as much work around the house then you will my house is always spotless and I have for young children they help as much as possible this is just ridiculous
