As owners of a 2022 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, we were excited to try this Rapid Red 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT. For 2024, Ford switched to a new motor that makes the GT even quicker. It now does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 11.8 seconds. In addition, it also charges about 20% faster than previous Mach-Es.

We go over all the details so if you are considering upgrading your Mach-E or looking at a Mach-E for the first time, check it out!

As a bonus, we also take a look at the cheapest Mach-E (a Select, RWD, Standard Range) to see some of the differences.

The acceleration is another world from my previous ICE cars. 2 lane passing was an eye opener. I'm used to having to flatten the peddle to execute the pass. First time I did that from 45, I was instantly doing 95 and passing the car in front of the one I was originally planning to pass. I have yet to actually go full send on my Rally, I am already beyond a reasonable speed before I get that far.

My frunk is where I keep the mobile charger, the CCS to NACS adapter, the J1772 to Tesla Destination adapter, the jump starter/air pump (thanks for the suggestion in an earlier video), and first aid kit.

I am OK with the dimple. I like the manual vent controls. My previous car was a Ford Fusion which also had a start button, and I prefer to have it on my Rally.

I wish there was V2L and a spare.

Great video, I'm absolutely in love with mine! Such a great upgrade from my First Edition, and so many lease incentives available right now...with the Ford Power Promise I didn't need a charger so they gave me another $1k off instead. Magneride and Blue Cruise 1.3 alone are worth it. The Beosonic really sounds better to me compared to the First Edition. I've been pleasantly surprised to see my GOM regularly showing 285-290 miles at 100%. I was bummed to lose the seatback pockets but found a great little trashcan for right behind the center console that works well, hit me up if you want the details. And I agree about the dimple, it keeps fooling me into thinking I have a dent!

Can't wait for the 2025 test drive and review. Really interested in how loud the heat pump is.

That Rapid Red looks incredible on the Mach-E.

Ford could vastly increase the utility and sales of the 2025 Mach E by adding a factory installed tow hitch and a 3000 pound towing capacity.

I did not get an adapter with my 2024 GT, purchased November 18th. Fortunately, had ours from our totaled 2022 GTPE.

Loved this! Cool to see the differences and the improvements made to the car over the past few years.

Upgrading from a 2021 or 2022 GT probably isnt the best financial move nor are the changes that big, but i could see someone take the leap from a lower trim like a Select or Premium.

I plan on keeping my Mach-E until there's been a big leap in charging times with 10-80% charging sessions taking less than 20 minutes.

While it won’t help someone like Patrick who uses an Android phone, for iPhone users, a company called TWRAPS makes an awesome drop in module for Mach Es that gives you two Magsafe charge pads in place of the Qi pads. It does tie up one of your USB ports but it blends in seamlessly to the cars interior and unlike the Qi charger it keeps the phone charged even when using the Carplay GPS. It was definitely among the top three most useful things I bought for the car.

I really appreciate your discussion of the suspension/quality of the gt ride. I plan to get a 2025 Mach e (from NH need the heat pump) so want to compare the premium with gt package vs gt. Would prefer the added range of the premium but the ride for me is really important and there seems to be a marked improvement between premium vs gt with magnaride. Would love if you did a 2025 back to back review of premium gt package vs gt.

There’s no reason that a car company couldn’t include a better wireless charging pad, especially now that the qi2 standard is available. Plenty of aftermarket MagSafe chargers provide an iPhone with sufficient power.

Great video, as always! We're heading toward a possible Mach-E purchase before the end of the year, and your videos have been a big influence in that regard! Would you recommend spending the extra $5, 000 to get the GT over the Premium? Primarily going to be used as a commuting car, but I'm concerned about the notorious bounciness of the Premium (I need to check this out for myself, as I don't want to get back-seat passengers carsick).

Oh ho ho ho…! In North Carolina for the holidays? There seems to be a lot of new DCFC sites in that state. I'll have to have my daughter in Charlotte go visit some of them, just for fun. I've never thrilled that much on power (I start to pass out and feel nauseous) but… have fun!

Thanks for the share. Is there a noticeable difference in ride comfort between the Premium & GT? I heard the Magneride adaptive suspension in the GT is somewhat less jarring than the Premium steel fixed rate suspension, despite it being sold as a "performance" model.

The car looks great in that color and those wheels! So being that this car was a loan car, it had the Performance upgrade included? Because it shouldn’t be quicker than the ‘22 UNLESS it has that upgrade or it is actually slower… like a standard ‘22 GT without the Performance Package. Anyway, cool car

if full power available all the way to max speed? Or does it shut you down when you floor it after a specific amount of time?

Ford can make the Mach-e GT much more compelling by adding a wider wheel/tire, maybe 275 mm. Then upping the peak combined power to at least 600 hp. At 700 ft-lb and still only 480 hp, it's still a slug at the top end. Clearly, Ford is still cutting motor torque at higher speeds to reduce heating, and they need to update the hardware appropriately to fix this!

I don't see the link for the Ford adapter case.

Dumb question (but I think is important ha) - is the back big enough to hold golf clubs and bag? Or would you need to put a seat down for them to fit?

I’m waiting for the 2025. The heat pump and cooled seats made it a possibility for me. Eruption green gt with the bronze package. Where’s your North Carolina accent Patrick? My ex wife in Charlotte would say you sound like a Yankee.

Sadly, the Ford Power Promise is unavailable up here in Canada. 😡
