2024 Mustang Mach E GT | First Drive Review

Unchanged is the basic interior and exterior design (though there is a new bronze appearance package that's worth a look) and unfortunately we don't find a heat pump under the hood in 2024 either. This isn't going to be a deal breaker for all EV shoppers but for those in colder climates it will likely play a key factor in final purchase decisions. This is still not likely to convert a herd of conventional Mustang owners but since Ford has loosened the reins on this performance trims there's a better chance this year than the year before.

The Magneride being standard is a reason why I would consider this. Magneride is absolutely magical.

Warning this car is addictive. One drive and you have to buy. Throw in Zero Percent Financing and $1k below MSRP and the GT will be sitting in your driveway [like it is mine].

I like the color and the bronze accents. But this car needs to come with a heat pump. In my climate they make a big difference.

Too bad their lease deals are just ridiculous!! Even for the old 23 models. They still want $5K down and $600-700 a month for a car that is $10-15K off!!

My son bought the Mach e premium 2wd with 320 mile range. Has it two weeks now 90 miles a day commute. He's loving it. It's too fast. Rides great. White metallic with black interior. I think it's looks are fantastic. Plus it doesn't look like any Tesla (all ugly) and doesn't attract the same attention. I hope it will work well for a long time.

How do you think the fabric on the dash is going to last? I only ask because it's not something you see very often

I like bronze and eruption green combo

Curb those low profile tires. Ouch. Nice alternative to a Y. Nice to see Ford stepping up.

I am digging the green but I’m not crazy about the bronze. I have heard it looks better in person but I think I’d prefer black or chrome.

Great video, really like the car a lot. But I’m out for electrics until NACS and more robust charging infrastructure. Had the model Y but the charging still wasn’t good enough. If I’m out of town, I need the car charged when I wake up, just like at home.

I heard it no longer has the power drop
Off after 5 seconds! Is this true?

I'm pretty surprised it doesn't have a heat pump! Wish the bronze carried over to the interior like on the Lightning Platinum's extra interior accents. TBH I'd hold off on the Ford until it has the Tesla port standard. Otherwise it's a solid car, if a little strangely proportioned.

Fun fact: I gave Ford the idea to create the Mustang 4 door hatchback back in 2017. Still no acknowledgement from Ford or Farley, yet I have a Facebook message they had replied to. As we all know this model mustang is the most controversial mustang ever built. And I believe I was the only one in the world to have said anything.

Major problem with the mustang's trunk. There is NO drain. Any rain water that get in there stays. The trunk is slopped so any water run forward on to the car floor.

No mention when it magically turned red? 😆

Did Ford switch to Android automotive in the infotainment system?

Last thing to tell someone selling an EV is how to make it POP

After seeing the Mach E (I still won't call it a Mustang ;-) ) for months on the road now - my wife saw this in videos and said "I actually like the look of that one...." If Ford were to take the pony badge off of the front and just called it the Mach E - I think we'd be "in" - I went to Ford's configurator last night and with the options we'd choose just over $61k - that's tempting....
