Bilahari Kausikan of the National University of Singapore's Middle East Institute, who was formerly permanent secretary of Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says he finds it "very difficult" to see the U.S. staying out in the event of an "unprovoked attack" on Taiwan.

China will certainly take account of what’s happening in Ukraine. If they plan to take Taiwan, they must ensure that they have majority support of the TAIWANESE. Otherwise, they will lose?

Please do not compared Ukraine to Taiwan.
China has just one and only one red line and that is if Taiwan announced independence, they will strike regardless of whether Japan comes to their aids or even if US interfere will also met with the same fate.
Everyone gave the same remark, now Ukraine then Taiwan. The point is it is a totally different tropic. China will take it out if them out if they dare to declare independence regardless of whether US or Japan support. Whereas Ukraine is a different story. They are already independence and the west kept lobbying them to joint EU and NATO especially when that is lobby comes from US itself trying to increase NATO territorial towards Russia. Frankly US is the one that put Ukraine and especially EU in this difficult situation and obviously Russia has to react and Ukraine took the blunt reaction of Russia action.
How about if now Russia, China and North Korea form an union similar to that of NATO and took the very same posture of an attack on one will meant the attack on all. Remember, these three are all nuclear powered countries. It is clearly a provoke incident and not what the west claims 'unprovoked". In Ukraine, they cross the red line and that is why Russia react and not as many will say unprovoked. What about if upon forming that union, they start to lobbying Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and move down South East Asia what will the west do then. US, UK Australia including Japan has already got their own grouping in this region why not form one by the three nuclear powered northern neighbors? You can do that in EU why not South East Asia.
Look at Lithuania now that has a problem with China, same thing lobbying by US to seek relationship with Taiwan terminating China's connectivity. Both these countries are non EU and non NATO just US ventures to broaden its engagement in the European arena now that its has fail to get ASEAN support.

I love it... China said Taiwan is not Ukraine, because Taiwan already belongs to China, and the Taiwan people say Taiwan is not Ukraine because Taiwan is a soverign country. My sides

what drug is he on? Blinken the Secretary of State have made it abundantly clear, the America will "Provide Taiwan with the capability to defend itself"
isn't that EXACTLY the same with Ukraine?
The US have NEVER said they will come to taiwan's defense

Renounce your desire now CCP, to "reunification" of Taiwan by force if necessary doctrine. Thus the world can be confident, of a lasting, stable, peacful future after.

It's not an "Invasion" because the word is not the correct one to use. The word as used implies an unjustified assault, which is not the case with Russia's assault on Ukraine. From Russia's and China's perspective, Russia had formally stated many times its justification for the assault, which was Ukraine's continued hostility to Russia and its request or inviting of NATO into Ukraine. A security threat no country in the world would accept. The US did not accept it and it has no business to insist that Russia accepts it. Everyone remembers well of the Cuban crisis.

A more accurate term to use, instead of invasion, is "targeted military offensive" to remove the setting Kyiv regime".

China has more legitimacy to take TW. IF US and NATO wont use forces against Russian troops for Ukraine, why should anyone think US will do it for TW?

Russia had to do it as its demands were not heard. Russia's demands were no military build up and no NATO expansion. This is a legitimate concern for Russia

I really don't get it, Ukraine is a sovereign country, where as Taiwan is widely recognized as a region in China by the international community. In what world should the US step in to intervene with regards to a Chinese domestic issue, when they clearly wanted no part of conflicts in Ukraine or Afganistan?
