Anyone one who's ever work for any corporation knows Miles is fucking spot on in this scene. Everything he says is absolutely true.

Random thought, but I honestly love the comfortable-ness in this scene. The way Ken is sitting with his leg propped up, Shelby's elbows on the table, the ease that they talk to each other and pick on each other, and the obvious deep trust and respect they have for each other. Bale and Damon need to work together again, they are magic together.

Boy, he described middle management everywhere...

I work at a place that tells you how they want creativity, and individualism. Then the guy above then start looks at numbers. As does they guy above him. And above him. And....

1:17 The state of their plates reinforces that Shelby spent the first part of the dinner giving his pitch while Miles listened and ate. Then the scene begins and the actions are reversed.

The scene with the Cobra entering against the sunset is pure perfection

Woah, this got way more real than I thought this movie was capable of. Whoever put in that monologue about middle managers deserves a bigger cubicle

Wish they fleshed out this theme more in the film. Ken and Shelby were certainly the heroes of the story, but The Ford Company were very much the antagonists, representing everything the two of them stood against. Ferrari, ironically, were more aligned with them, pushing the limit and achieving perfection no matter the personal cost. Ford just exhausted Ferrari with their endless resources to turn racing into another advertising venue.

Pretty much for any big company, it's all about men in ties and that it's. No passion no joy like actual engineering groups or people like Ken or Shelby

People like Ken Miles are the ones who move the world forward, even if they have to do it under the edifice of big corporations...it just takes balls to be yourself and not buy in to the corporate BS....no wonder his financial state wasn't very good before he started working for ford...because people like him are hard to hire because they don't easily fit in, but they are better than almost every employee on your team, because they love what they do i.e their jobs, even if it means to go against their boss.

"And they're gonna work out new ways to screw you. Why? Because they can't help it. Because they just wanna please their boss, who wants to please his boss, who wants to please his boss. And they hate themselves for it. But deep down, who they hate even more, are guys like you, because you're not like them, because you don't think like them, because you're different."

They shot the restuarant scene in Jims Burger in the city of Valinda California 25 miles east of Dodger Stadium. Yes the Burgers are "Excellent" 🍔🍟 🎥😀🎭

One would never know, from this movie, that Ford had a major investment in Indy car racing in the 1960s and their engines dominated the Indy 500 in the late 1960s and early 70s.
