It frustrates me as a medical student to see good diets being discouraged..."intermittent fasting may be dangerous!?!?"...you've got to be kidding me...

Um do your own research because this lady is CLUELESS. You CAN indeed eat vegetables and some fruits, and get all the nutrients necessary for life. Especially if you aren't doing "dirty keto." Which makes this diet is very sustainable. In fact, the more you become fat adapted... Like say after a year (not right away). The more you can increase the amount of carbs your body can consume while still staying in ketosis. (What a great way to get in tons of fruits and veggies that you apparently can't eat). People who have been doing this for years can eat upwards of 60grams or more of carbs and still be in ketosis. You can get a blood glucose kit to test how adding carbs to your diet affects your body and do this little by little. ALSO. The ketogenic diet has been PROVEN to reverse bad cholesterol.... She needs to hit the books and not speak of easily debunked myths

2:04 "There's a lot of supplementation that has to happen." Are they completely deranged?

Totally clueless. The only food group that is pretty much eliminated all together from a Keto diet is processed foods in general and more specifically processed carbs. So all the things you really shouldn't be eating regardless of your diet. I am Keto and I eat veggies every day. I eat a lot of spinach, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, berries & I eat an avocado every day. I eat "clean" Keto so the fats I am getting are the fats that are better for you such as grass finished beef, free range organic eggs, olive oil, coconut oil & avocado oil as well as ghee I make with butter that come from grass fed cows. As for gaining all of the weight back and then some when you quit the diet I am sure it is no worse than any other diet you quit and go back to eating the way you did before. They should also do some research into the effects different diets have on your metabolism as well as fasting's effect on the metabolism. Then compare that to what happens to your metabolism on a calorie restricted diet that just destroys your metabolism.

As for fasting it has been around for 1000's of years. There is a lot of research on it with a lot more ongoing. Fasting has amazing effects at all levels. I do agree that you need to do your research and make sure you know what you are doing and/or be under medical supervision. But as far as being dangerous if practiced like it should be it is not dangerous to otherwise healthy people.

They really need to do some more research before putting out such blatantly wrong videos.

Poor info. Cholesterol is not a disease. It doesn't cause heart issues. We don't run off glucose. We just do now because of the available trash to eat. Long ago people ran more off ketones and ate once a day or whenever they could get food...and that food was meat and veggies and berries.

WOW not enough research??? Really??? Fasting has been around since biblical times. Hope everyone will try a different informative video. These Ladies are saying that we are suppose to run on sugar from carbs. I beg everyone to look elsewhere. This is in short all

@ParkviewHealth please pull this video since these two ladies clearly aren't experts on anything!!!

Any initial spikes in cholesterol are temporary and will eventually go down as the body adjusts. This video is dumb.
