This was an introduction to the villain of the film. He may sound like a goofball with his constant laughing, but in reality he is a threat both mentally and physically. He tries to fool everyone to thinking he doesn't know that much martial arts. He pits the prisoner against Wong Fei Hong to see as good of a fighter Wong is. Wong is even shocked to see that he was capable of killing the prisoner and the villain realizing that he has given too much away about his martial arts to Wong Fei Hong. This is an example of why a lot of masters don't like to show off or compete, so that their opponents will not know their strengths and weakness.

Even though the prisoner is supposed to be strong, wong was able to dispatch him without even getting up from the chair 😂

this scene is perfect. however the final showdown with the main villain could be alot better. 😢

Wong fei hung fighting a prisoner that realized that the prisoner is beggar so "teacher of Wong fei hung." That so chan want to make Wong fei hung to learn drunken boxing.
