I know this because I was baffled as to why Poofesure had the cutscene for starting Baseball but I didn't, then I watched a video about the history of the "All Sports" speedrun category, which helped clear that up.

There was also a version 1.0.2 which was the version in Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort

i bought a wii about 2 years ago and found wii sports at a thrift store. It just so happens that was a 1.0.0 copy of the game

If it's the version that came packaged with the Wii when it came out, then yes. Also another point bc a lot of those Wii games in the beginning never had depictions of the "official" puffy jacket on the remote. My jacket was a 3rd party color changing one lol

actually, there is a third version known as 1.2, which is the wii sports that is included in the wii sports + resort combo disc. almost nothing is different from 1.1 except faster loads and movement "patches" in tennis, at least to our knowledge within the wii sports speedrunning community. for the most popular category of all sports, 1.0 saves roughly 7 seconds due to the absence of the lineup cutscene and the throwing animation for each out received in baseball; however, sometimes 1.2 is faster in for example all platinum medals because of the aforementioned faster loads.
something else to note is that gecko codes (codes that modify the game's mechanics and properties) ONLY work on 1.1, since it is the most popular by far and easiest to obtain. it could also be due to the differing memory locations for certain important things in 1.0 and 1.2.
