As an entj I used to be jealous of my enfj friend for being liked by every one. But I realised I have the strength that no one else had and it makes people who really care and value me proud. That’s all I need in terms of emotions.

How ENTJs see the 16 Personalities Socially:

0:06 ESTP - Abrasive
1:12 ISTP - Quiet Followers
2:08 ENFJ - People Recruiters
3:13 INFJ - Understand People
4:04 ENTP - Debaters
4:51 INTP - Deep Thinkers
5:43 ISFJ - Pleasant Followers
6:46 ESFJ - Party Starters
7:46 ISFP - Peacemakers
8:47 ESTJ* - Ultimate Enemy
9:35 ENTJ - Partner in Crime
10:19 INTJ - Easy Conversationalist
11:27 ESFP - Best Friend
12:20 ENFP - Flatterers
13:09 ISTJ - Closed-minded
14:50 INFP - Thoughtful

*The only type socially that will cause me to get upset and push back is the ESTJ. While they have the same desire to command a social situation, I find their approach to be short-sighted, selfish, and unwilling to hear additional input. This comes across as the scolding parent figure. As an ENTJ, I will only take the lead if requested, think about the greater good, and request input before commanding the situation.

10 years of being disappointed by success left me depressed and unmotivated. I could never figure out why I wasn't happy, why no matter what I did it never seemed to be enough; I could never rest because I never felt closure. Eventually my ability to hold back the emotional flood ran out, and my life spiralled out of control in a whirlwind of sex, drugs and binge eating. I burned through my life savings in 2 months and ended up homeless, bitter, resentful, lashing out at everyone who got close. I discovered MBTI around this time, and kept mistyping as ISFP, ISTP, and INTJ.

Eventually, after some intense meditation and self-reflection, and a deep understanding of cognitive functions and the ways they manifest in different types, I realized that I'm just a severely damaged ENTJ.

The last few months I've been focusing on a new goal: figure out who I really am, and what I really want, so I can finally know what it's like to be happy.

I'm INFJ with ENTJ friend and before I watch I'll write down what he told me about me: You are exceptional and therefore valuable because you have your own hobbies and desires that are not like anyone else’s who's our age (we were around 16) and you actually follow them. I can see who you are and where you are going and you seem like there's a high probability you'll get there.

My mom is an ISFJ. My dad is an ENTJ (I am as well). The description of how ENTJs can be baffled at how ISFJs are doing fine despite not moving as fast as they are is quite accurate. One day my dad decided to try switching from PC to Mac, as he thought Macs might run faster (efficiency mindset). He got both him and my mom MacBooks. My mom has since stuck with the MacBook while my dad didn’t and moved back to the PC after it didn’t click with him. I admire this ability of my mom to stick with things. She’s able to see what works and what doesn’t. My dad may have the ability to invoke change quickly and pursue his goals at any cost (as do I), but my mom also has an admirable persistence of a different sort.

Thank you f or these insights! Am an INFP. Had an ENTJ mother who never failed to make me feel like not enough. Conversely, she never failed to take credit for my successes!

seems like ENTJ sees everybody from a strategically useful viewpoint

That last one really hits it home for me. I talk to INTPs and INFPs about how to make a living from their interests but they just aren't open to hearing it. Whereas I don't know what my interests are hahahaha

I'm an ISTJ, and my dad is an ENTJ. This is very accurate. He often used to complain about my slower pace, but at the end of the day, he admired what he called my "grit" and that I always completed the job perfectly.

This is perfect. I’m an ENTP, and one of my (school only, sadly) friends is an ENTJ. I originally didn’t care to interact with her in school, but in the next year, she was in all of my classes. I first noticed her because she was the type of student that everyone would want on their team for a project or something. I’m also one of those people, so I wanted to learn more about her. So, I decided to go on HER team for the next project. We became friends because I decided not to poke her too much. She takes a look at how I organize things, (I don’t) and decides that she is the leader. I don’t mind, because she knows that I don’t like being controlled too much, and she just tells me what part I should work on, but I can do it however I want. We can rely on each other as partners. We both get good grades. She appreciates the humor, relief from stress, and intelligence that I bring to the table. I like her reliability, intelligence, and the fact that she’s so easy to annoy. It’s funny 💀

My poor ENTJ mother had 2 daughters, one and ENFP and the other (me) and INFP. She definitely gave us structure which must have been hard considering we were both messy and a bit chaotic. However, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have achieved half of what I have without her. She always found so much more positive in my personality than I ever did. On the flip side, I have always found chemistry with ENTJ men, not sure I would want to marry one but there is chemistry.

My ex husband is an ENTJ and I am an ENFP. What a “match”!
He was a huge go getter and I’m definitely the “peaceful” one. I ALWAYS did well at work and was always well respected but because I didn’t have an executive job I was seen as less. He wanted me to help him negotiate as i was more likeable than he was but at the time I was not a good negotiator! So your assessment is correct. I learned a lot from him, though. It’s ok to say you know what you’re doing and have confidence and pride in your work.
Also, negotiating is great for getting more than you asked for!! If we were still together, I’d be a much better negotiation partner! Lol!
On the other hand, he saw my ESFJ mother as ideal and would always complain to her about me!! lol!! She exercised every day (I only exercised 3 days a week and was never over weight but, you know), she had an immaculate house, and she was just very organized.
He didn’t like my ISTP dad because he was too emotional and did some really stupid things like leave my mom for another far less attractive, out of shape woman!
He liked my ISTJ sister but thought she was too robotic and b*tchy.
I scored higher than my dad because I was presentable and didn’t do anything stupid like he did. Thank goodness! 😂
All in all, he was a nice guy…for someone else. He needed pushback and I am not that type.
I admire the go getter attitude of the ENTJ! It’s great when it’s on your side!

LOL. Also why ENTJ/INTJ are the ultimate power couple. ENTJs can lead the charge and be president of the country or a company while the INTJ sits in the background, letting the ENTJ have all the credit and happily fending off foes who were too distracted by the ENTJ's commanding presence to notice them. Meanwhile threat level and social obligations of the INTJ are way less because everything is focused on the ENTJ, the bait in the trap.

Both types are generally okay with being that ruthless. It doesn't mean they don't care about each other. This was just the most efficient plan. And plotting and planning together is part of the attraction.

As an INFP, I've always felt a strong connection to ENTJs, and they've always seemed to feel the same way towards me. There is definitely mutual admiration. But in my experience it has always been difficult to give fruition to this connection and make it develop into a fruitful relationship, given our very different ways to go about things on a day to day basis. I bet it would be rewarding for both parts though :)

I'm ESTP, my father's ENTJ. I always got told how similar my personality is to my father's, though I don't particularly see it. I guess to the outside view, indeed, they seem to have a common mentality.

this was so accurate and well laid out that it gave me chills. us entj’s really do see the best in + the potential in everyone. you absolutely hit the nail on the head in terms of the intricacies of how we perceive each type. i don’t know why i expected you to get some of them wrong; you’re nathan, you never fall short.
well done.
