I'm glad things have changed since 30yrs ago. As a father of a son thats about to enlist in a few years time - i'm glad to see that the recruits are now treated as human beings

Not gonna lie, I think everyone has different experiences. I was in Taurus in 2019, PTP batch, and the Sergeants in this video were a lot like the ones I had. They were reasonable and they took the time to train us without the constant yelling. I feel like instead of the sergeants yelling at us, they decided to approach us in a friendly manner which differentiated us from the other sections and that made our section make sure that we were always on our best performance to prove our sergeants' leniency.

Sometimes, it's in the approach. There was the usual yelling but it was reserved for scenarios where it was needed. Safe to say, our section ended us being the most disciplined and rarely got into trouble. It's all about trust. The sergeants trusted us and we trusted them.

I LOL-ed hard at the 'video calling home part' - definitely something my mother will ask me to do too!

During my times, whenever we spotted the sgt at the door of our bunk, we have to shout "room" and stop whatever thing we are doing and quickly stand in attention. If not alert enough, will get pump.Things seem to be pretty heartwarming now haha

Miss the 2.4km route in Tekong.
The sneak 120% after lights out.
The commanders raiding bunk for late night phone users.
The fear of Platoon Sgts.
'take your time take your time, nevermind, i got all day! Your life here is mine also, u want tough no problem we can help u toughen up one! SEMULA!'

I think because it’s on camera, everything is toned down and seems nice. Lol, most chill fire drill I’ve seen. Back then Mohawk company is shag

My 1st day, once we alighted from the RPL(Ramp Powered Launch) at the jetty, immediately force march with our duffle bags a.k.a. Alibaba Bag to parade square in Tekong Camp 1 for push ups. My CSM then was a commando so hell broke lose there after. Alpha Alpha all the way!

Absolute nostalgia. I miss these sergeants and enciks dearly. I wanna ORD but I wouldn't mind turning back the clock and going through BMT with Dragon COY again.

Brings back memories. Time flies. Enlisted 18 years ago, when most of these boys were born. Our future is in their hands. 💪🏻
