I think what people mean by “slower” is after 1-2 years of usage and there’s garbage/cache/lots of photos and documents in the system.

But if you factory reset it, there shouldn’t be a problem.

I've been using S8 since last year I can confirm that it actually more faster now with the update to 8.0 android. I've never experience any lag whatsoever.

Great video Nick. As someone who has both and likes each for different reasons, I agree with you 100%. Samsung phones used to lag years ago after a while, but that’s been over for at least 2 years. Both are great phones and which one is best for you really depends on what use cases you have.

I’ll also add that unless people use one of these for at least 1 to 2 weeks, they really have no right slamming the other. It takes at least that long to learn all the tips and tricks that make you productive with them.... Unless of course they’re subscribed to your channel and find the right videos, which speeds up the learning curve somewhat.

People who say they have lag with their phones are actually the cause of these issues - you know PEBKAC. I've had a lot of phones out there (iPhone/Huawei/Samsung/LG/one plus) and I always get the same exact phone for my wife and my phones never has any of these issues but my wife does and it's because of all the crap she installs. She even installed aps until she ran out of space on her phone and she was wondering why the phone was so slow (iphone 7) - yes even your PC or laptop filled to the brim with an SSD will get slower when you do that. She also installed so much apps that we're running in the background that we're IMHO crap apps (shopping apps, filter apps, etc.) that it slowed her iphone 6 but when I removed these apps the phone went back to running nicely. I've never had these issues with any of my phones, so yeah agree with your assessment there! Very under rated channel by the way!

Just look at the samsung when opening heavy apps like games : stuttering and lagging. ( even with the keyboard most of the time) it‘s just the consistency and smoothness of every single task and every sigle time on the iphone that keeps me going for the iphone !

if you use both phones everyday like for taking pictures and filling their storage with content, a year later s8 will slow down or any samsung phone.Saying with experience. This test was on devices which were not used much.
