in my opinion, they both have the same quality, and they both have their ups and downs. with that being said, since both qualities are the same, samsung S8 has darker deeper clear-as hell photos, ..while iphone 7 has, bright clear and great cooler color focus, so would you perfer darker and clear? or brighter and clear? cus both are same quality, it just depends on your taste

I think you accidentally swapped the iPhone and S8 sides halfway through the video
at 6:22 you said the S8 was really good at focusing when it looked really choppy but it was perfect on the iPhone side
also when using the macro lens you said the iPhone was better at focusing, but the the iPhone side was blurry

Digital cameras being somewhat of my speciality, here's a breakdown of the pros and cons of both

From a hardware perspective, Samsung has a wider aperture than than the iPhone allowing for more light to enter the lens and onto the sensor and a shallower depth of field for a greater bokeh effect (blurred background) Both phones support shooting RAW DNG with HDR+

For those arguing that Samsung's colours are more vibrant, this is because Samsung deliberately exaggerates colours. It's clear to me that Apple's engineers have vigorously tested their colour reproduction and image clarity incorporating their DTI technology since the 6s. This is most likely a colour profile Samsung has chosen and can be tweaked when shooting in RAW.

Samsung's superior display makes viewing and editing photos a better experience on the device itself

As for video, the iPhone has a very choppy shutter when shifting exposure, Samsung does a better job at this. However from what I've seen, iPhone's combination of hardware and software stabilisation works better than that of Samsung's.

Having used the S7 and iPhone 7, manual exposure control seems to have much more range on the iPhone, I cannot speak for the S8 but I reckon it hasn't changed significantly

Both excellent phones, I like to see healthy competition. Samsung certainly makes the iPhone's design look dated

For complete transparency, I am an alltime iPhone user. I have no grudge against Samsung, I only like to see the greatest in technology.

Honestly I have an iPhone 7+ and I just preordered an S8+ a few days ago but I like the looks of the iPhone's camera more of the time. Of course, the S8 definitely has its perks but for more of the time I like the darker nature of the iPhone's camera.

I am currently using Samsung after transferring over from Apple, but I have to say that in this video the sharpness and stabilisation goes to the iphone camera.
Instead of being biased, I honestly think that he was basing his judgements off what he saw on the live screens, which makes sense because we all know that Samsung has a better display. He probably mistook the screen display for camera performance

I'm honestly considering buying a Galaxy as my next phone so I am pretty neutral about this whole iPhone-Galaxy thing but I thought the camera on the iPhone was way better. The only actual difference between the two that was mentioned over and over again was how vibrant the S8 was but you can achieve that easily in post production and it doesn't say anything about the camera itself.

Whats nice about this guy is the fact hes not a fanboy that praises one company no matter what although hes an Apple user. But for some reason some stupid Apple fanboys find the truth so painful that they fill the comments with childish comments like this guys is praising Samsung. Although we all here for Apple but we rather hear the truth than a lie and we rather appreciate the better technology than denying it. Apple is an amazing designer and Samsung's technology is so fucking good!

I'm not a fan boy or something but I honestly think that samsung used a filter where as iphone shows fully raw image no filter! That green colour of trees were actually that filter which makes it more greener ! If u want to see the difference head to 5:07 and check that the actual colour is been shown in iPhone 7 but samsung and apple have one of the best smartphone camera !!
