I think the thumbnail is slightly missleading using the "Works locally with Home Assistant" badge when that's not something Aqara advertises. Using the Homekit integration works, but it feels more like a workaround rather then actual support.

I did get the lock and Battery Status to show up in HA using Matter/M2 Hub. However, although the status tracked, I was not able to control the lock. Were you able to lock/unlock the door via HA? I also was not able to control the lock via Apple Home.

If you use Bluetooth to connect it to the HA HomeKit controller, can you still use HomeKey? Or if I want HomeKey am I really stuck getting another stupid extra hub? Really keypad and HomeKey are all I want out of this thing.

I’m a big Aqara fan and I have been using Weiser lock which the battery life was terrible. Hope this one is good 👍. Great video!

i really want a lock that you can setup with home assistant to say "oh grandma is at the house" so it creates a code and sends a text to 'grandma' and then she can open the lock with a temporary code.... then once that code is used it'll just delete the code and it cannot be used by someone random to get in/out

Very cool, nice that it can also be rekeyed more easily unlike the U100. Really wish that it could be conntected directly to HA via Zigbee dongle (z2m or even zha) rather than through their hub and matter of via bluetooth with Homekit integration. It advertises as needing a zigbee 3.0 hub, so I'm just irked that I can't pair it directly to HA, :-(

Really nice, except that I rent. I can't take apart my lock and I don't think the owner would like being excluded from his building (I almost said "locked out").
