I found love 24 years ago. I sacrificed so much so my wife could get her nursing degree. And even had a failed attempt at nurse anesthesia. I sacrificed for our children, raising them to adulthood. I welcomed all animals she brought home. I was proud to help her while she struggled with mental and physical health. A few months ago, she filed for divorce. I still want the best for her but my heart breaks every morning I wake up and she's not there. I don't care to love ever again!

Soooo true. Women quit when work is required. Quit when it's not as much FUN. Later both ex-wives BEGGED for forgiveness & even stalked me. Both missed my stability & humor. I just never responded & eventually blocked them EVERYWHERE. Guys, don't even respond. gratifying...I can't even tell you!!!

My wife. Penny and I worked together as EMT/Paramedic partners on the ambulance for many years (decades). We were a great team on and off duty, building a successful life together. We suffered and sacrificed together.
Penny was 14 years older than me, a wise woman. At the beginning, she had more resources and made more money. She significantly helped me launch and further my career and personal growth.
I knew Penny for 43 great years. In the last 16 years her health declined. I had to work and take care of her (with the assistance of my family, not hers). I gladly did this because we loved each other.
Unfortunately, she passed away suddenly in 2020. I can tell you that they don't tend to make women like Penny anymore.
I love and miss you my wonderful wife.
But life goes on.

Love is constant self development and growth. Being the best version of yourself as often as you can and when you get knocked down, having the courage to get up.

Living for someone else will only create resentment.

You breath life into your significant other when you take your self development, seriously.

This is so brutal but true. Was left by someone I was deeply in love with by this definition. She just didn't love me the same way. Meanwhile my grandfather cared for my dying grandmother without complaint and only gave thanks to God for the opportunity. Tore his bicep tendon helping her into bed and wiping her ass as she lost the ability to talk. Slept next to her on the floor so he could tend to her every need while dying and thanking God for 70 years all while being 89 years young. I weep because I will never know love like that. Selfless and true.

I almost died this year. I saw who was there for me for real.
My daughter was sitting next to me during nights to take care of me, and went to scool in the morning. This is love. And still she made perfect scores at school.
My coworker friend drove all day home from Germany. She has just reached Budapest, when I called her that I need a new canule right now. She ran right to me, to put a new one in. This is love. This not duty.
I can't count too many people. It is hard to see. Hard to see how heartless people are. Yet I will try to love them.
Where were all the others who knew it? Some did not even answer.

Love is what Jesus showed on the Cross and as Paul describes. He is correct, people see this kind of love as weakness, but its actually love and people are evil so they reject real love.
