"That Rangers core never won a cup" can be said about every Rangers core

For a tough guy sport, these guys are surprisingly sensitive.

Idk if this is video worthy, but my coworker and I were talking about ut today, Martin St Louis' mothers day goal against the penguins in the 2014 playoffs. In my book it will forever go down as one of the best goals in nhl history, not because of the goal itself, but what it meant to Marty, the team and the city of New York

I love how torts never sugar coats anything and just gets straight to the point. Wish my wings hired him especially after what he did with philly last season.

Life long Bruin fan here...I was happy when the B's shipped him out !!! Regular season machine and very EXPENSIVE slouch post season 😢 Toronto should reflect and learn from this 🤷‍♂️

With that title, I thought for SURE this would be a Disney Star Wars critique.

I think one of the ugliest, most masochistic events in NHL history had to be the Canucks bringing in Mark Messier, then Mike Keenan. These were the guys that beat the Canucks in a heartbreaking game 7 loss. Then Mark Messier takes the captaincy away from Trevor Linden, a Canuck legend and all around amazing guy. Then Messier refuses to change his number and takes the unofficially retired number 11. I swear, it was like if someone wanted to rub molten salt in the wound of a Canucks fan, I don't think you could have done a better job. What a horrible, ugly, stupid set of circumstances... Bordering on cruel and unusual. And Messier never won sh$t with the Canucks, pure money grab of a player way past his prime. Insanity.

I mean he won a hart and an art Ross I dont think the Stanley cup is the only thing that you can win

“Never to win anything” I mean I know there is a group of people that think the Stanley Cup is the only trophy available to win, but Joe literally had a Hart and Art Ross trophy at this point. Based on the percentage of players who win those trophies, that is hardly “not winning anything”.

ngl I expected Torts to go ballistic. "Soft? SOFT?!?!? I'm rock hard right now. I'll show you who's soft!"

Jeez dude, holding onto some baggage aren’t you. We’ve all been hurt before, it’s just words, let it go.

Yeah I remember this. From a Sharks perspective it was clear he meant it as in it was unacceptable to their team. They Rags weren't a great team at the time, Sharks were going through a bit of a rough patch at that point of the year iirc, and it was more of a message to the SHarks that they can't be losing those games than a dig at the Rnagers.

Remember this is the Jumbo who got into a public beef with GM Doug Wilson and then they patched it up like a day later. He's a candid and passionate guy and sometimes had some one liners that most people would think "I probably shouldn't have said that", but he really didn't give a shit lol he moved past it the second after he said it

It's ironic that Tortorella often talks tough while crying. Why do we use "he never won anything" as a mark against a player? It's a team sport. It's not Joe Thornton's failings alone that lead to him never winning a Stanley Cup.
