My grandmother cleaned her huge wood chopping block with lemon and salt. This also works wonderfully on brass

I use only water to clean my floors. It works great and leaves no streaks or residue.Oh, and if you have a swiffer you don't need to buy sheets. Old socks work great for cobwebs or dust bunnies and you can use any cloth moistened and stuck on onto the swiffer for floor cleaning.

The comments on here are hilarious. I use both bleach and vinegar, baking soda, and blue Dawn (edit to my point was as a disinfectant I have used both bleach and vinegar but never together. I was going based on the comments comparing one to the other.) There are many ways to clean. It’s up to each individual to do what works for them. To tell the author of this video that they need to do research on chemicals is funny to me. It’s my responsibility to research and not do everything that I see. Everyone doesn’t have the same hang ups. Adding to the information base is fine but when you tell someone that they need to update their information because it’s not your preferred method is just rude. Make your own video if your convictions are that strong. Lol Come on folks. Let’s make a conscious effort to share positive thoughts and comments and not tear others down because their ideas are different. After all, isn’t it the differences in us that makes us unique and an individual.

You know, if you clean your toilets weekly, there will be no need to do all this extra work. The extra work is needed due to not cleaning them on a regular basis. I use bleach toilet bowl cleaner and squirt all around the upper portion of the toilet bowls weekly and then scrub with a brush. Same thing goes for the microwave. Cover your dish and you won't have splashes. If you do, wipe immediately and don't let it build up. So much time and energy can be saved by just cleaning after yourself daily.

You can also mix dawn with white vinegar [about 1 portion of dawn to every 2 portions of vinegar]. warm them in a saucepan or in your microwave for a few second just so the vinegar will combine with the dawn. Put the mixture in a spray bottle and spray your shower doors, tiles, etc. and leave on for 15-30 minutes, then just wipe it off! All those water stains will slide away! You can also clean your burner covers with this mix by spraying them with the mixture and putting them in a plastic bag over night. Hope that helps someone. :) Learned it on Youtube!

Just tried the lemons in the microwave trick!! So easy it cleaned everything out and left a lemony scent, trying it with my toaster oven now and in my conventional oven.

I'm definitely doing the rug cleaning on the next hot days here in the UK. The black mould solution works. Nothing beats bleach solution in a spray bottle

I like to consider myself pretty good at improvising and thinking outside the box but yesterday BAM it occurred to me that I have a pretty good size garment steamer and OMGosh it was/is so easy (and fun) cleaning the kitchen. Wow. It literally melts grease and build up, like seriously melts, and then simply wipe away (i use the Norwex cleaning rags)
The way I see it, Work Smarter Not Harder LOL now cleaning is actually fun again! I'm afraid of going crazy during steam cleaning everything i can get my hands on all around the house!

Great tips!
I have found though that using Future on lenolium floors is better than regular floor wax. It's an acrylic. It doesn't yellow, floors can be washed easily with a very light soap solution, and you never have to try to get it off with ammonia, which will take the finish right off the lenolium. If that has already happened, that can be rectified with Future as well. JMO Retired long time housekeeper.

These are actually great tips! I've watched a few of Jansen's DIY videos now and tried a bunch of the hacks. I'm so happy with the results. So many DIY hack videos out there that are not only useless, but sometimes dangerous, that I was skeptical but this is awesome. Nice to find legit hacks and tips that work well and are safe to use in my home.

Vinegar baking soda and lemon! Winning combo for cleaning. Drains baking soda add vinegar after all baking soda is done foaming run hot water for a minute or two. Slow drains? Leave baking soda and vinegar work the drain for an hour then hot boiling water down the drain will clear it. Repeat if necessary! Easy Peasy!
