Sony Xperia 10 Review | Slender, man

Review of Sony's Xperia 10 smartphone, a mid-range mobile boasting a tall and slim design, dual lens camera and impressive media chops. Here's Chris' verdict after a week of full-time use.

We’re still big fans of last year’s Sony Xperia XA2, one of our favourite 300 pound smartphones - and while we had all of our fleshy bits tightly crossed for an XA3 to launch in 2019, Sony Mobile has gone and switched things up.

What we got instead was the Xperia 10, a mid-range mobile boasting the same sleek stretched design as the flash flagship phone. Unfortunately for the performance, Sony stuck with the older Snapdragon 630 chipset - while the battery has shrunk.

Still, the Xperia 10's dual lens camera is solid for grabbing bokeh photos and can also shoot 4K video at that 21:9 aspect ratio.

Got the 10 Plus. Pretty neat so far. I'm hyped for the 1 even though i can't afford it. If it improves on the few problems i have atm it will be amazing!

PS: I don't recommend super-vivid mode. It oversaturates the colours so it looks wrong quite often, especially on material that already is pretty colourful.

It'd be nice to see it next to a phone like the Google pixel 3 so we can actually see the size difference in comparison to what's on the market now. It doesn't look so "long" in the video but it's not the larger of the new Xperia's. I wanna see how much taller the Xperia 1 is compared to my current monster, the Xperia XZ premium

I realise you are a Sony fan (I am too), but when you were commenting on the screen it just bugged me how you did not mention that awfully huge bezel on top. I dont get it why they had to make it that big, its not appealing and doesn't do justice to the bottom part of the phone...

It looks a nice phone I can't make up my mind what to get over looks. 10 or Sony Xperia L3 because I've still got my L2 at the moment but the battery life on my l2 Xperia is brilliant but I'm still thinking about the Xperia 10 or the Xperia 10 plus Mark

Held one of these today in my local Best Buy. incredibly comfy in the hand compared to my Moto Z2. Hopefully by the time I'm ready for an upgrade late next year the (presumed) 11 models will be a bit better on specs. I REALLY like the idea of 21:9 on a phone after trying it out in person, but i'm gonna need at least some better battery life first.

I use Fluid Navigation Controls so it doesn't much matter to me, but if I didn't, I would be upset that Sony and others update new Pie phones with the gesture controls but leave their older ones (like my XZ2c) with the old nav buttons.
