Kudos to Sony for sticking with the Headphone Jack, avoiding pig ugly Camera Humps and for doggedly refusing to have anything to do with notches, or pin hole cameras.
I have fond memories of my cheapo L3, which is still my back up phone!

This is definetly my future phone.

Some people like I look for small smartphone with maximum battery life without apple price and durability (physically and digitally). My current phone is sony z5 compact (4.6" and 2700 mAh bought 2015) because there has not been any other similar small durable smart phone in the market since then and it still works brilliantly, shrinking app support is why I need a new phone.

Side note: If I want a review from a phone, why all the reviews are 50% about the camera and screen resolution? I use calling, messaging, bank transactions, email, news etc. and the camera is only 1% of my time with the phone. I also think that if I can handle same pixels on my pc (144hz) in gaming, I surely can handle those in my small phone (60fps) when I'm watching some basic videos on YT.

I wish Sony would have put a Snapdragon 780/778 into this, would be appropriate for this price class and the 10 III's laggy camera spoiled it for me (unfortunately the review doesn't go into detail here)

Just ordered mine in Purple. Can't live without Hi-res audio and 3.5mm jack

Damn. A headphone jack and no notch/hole punch is sexy af, but that processor would be a downgrade from my current

I just bought Sony Xperia 10 IV, and i like it because of the feeling of good quality, and more professional appearance. It's and comfortable and great smart-phone. The screen is very comfortable to watch.

Slow charging is great. Battery keeps charge better over time.

Main question is how does the Xperia 10 iv compare to the Pixel 6A.

I think this is basically a budget phone being sold for a mid-end price. I wish Sony actually had a proper cheaper alternative to their flagship Xperia 1 IV with the same camera & screen. No one who is interested in the Xperia 1 IV, but thinks that it's too expensive would even be considering this.

This phone with a higher refresh rate and sd 778 would be awesome

Sadly Sony phones don't have as much reviews as competitors. Please share your thoughts on Sony Xperia 10 IV vs Google Pixel 6a

Going for less that 4 bills and only 169 grams I'm all over this. I love plastic backed phones (rare) since I go caseless. The Mint color is for me.

Still looking for a Sony Z3C replacement... Had a Samsung s7, Huawei P30 (non-pro), Samsung s9.. Of all of those, the Huawei actually felt the best in my hands. Not so rounded, not so slippery, 'good grip'. It was just before the ban so while it still had long support and Google support. Since they don't have that anymore, Huawei is out of the picture... Never felt comfortable with the Samsungs.. Like I said, too slippery. They feel awkward to use. Even though I don't have small hands, I never got used to not being able to reach the entire screen while holding the phone 'safely' in my hands.

So, the smaller Sony width makes me notice it and go 'finally?!'. But the taller screen makes me go 'no no no! _smaller_ screens, not _bigger_ screens '. Anyone with experience on this? Is the Sony actually nice to use single handed? Are there other phones that still have the feel I miss from the Sony Z3C (it might have more to do with the boxyness or the thickness of that device than it 'small ness'.).

I'm more and more looking at filtering out phones with curved screens and _too much_ edge-to-edge, since it always leads to unusable portions of the screen and accidental touches while gripping the device.

Maybe just give up and get an old iPhone or something :(. (After being on Android since the HTC Hero days).

I don’t consider 6” as compact, but that’s the best I can get if I want a headphone jack and a large battery. But for the price, it should have more RAM, at least 8GB. High refresh rates are a bonus, but the RAM will make the phone useable for longer.

I’ll probably still buy it even if it only has 6GB of RAM, because I refuse to buy a phone without a 3.5mm jack, and I want a big battery without a huge phone.

Great camera, SD card slot, unlike Samsung & Asus. Side unlock is amazing, I hate in-screen. Almost no one cares about the missing charger or lack of 4K video. Only 169g + long battery life is FANTASTIC achievement. Sony software great too. No Samsung bloat! Samsung OS is not snappy, my budget Realme backup is more responsive!

Tempting to get one as my next work phone. Comfortable to hold, a headphone jack and solid battery life.

Finally! I've been waiting for a new Sony compact (I have the previous one) as I don't want to switch to iphone mini. Love the durability and the gorilla glass. Maybe a more premium compact would be desired
