In this video I’m aiming to answer the question: “What panel type should I buy?” I’m going to break down the main design differences briefly, then jump into the feature differences - things like the response times and refresh rates, alongside the viewing experience with things like viewing angles and brightness, plus lifespan, cost and availability. Let’s go!

I still think its crazy that the PS Vita has an OLED touch screen back in 2011 and 11 years later we still barley have any form of oled in monitors.

I'm using an IPS MIni led quantum dot, it has excellent contrast, black levels close to an OLED and color range with delta E<2, excellent for work and games.

I tried going with a VA panel after only using IPS, and I had to return it because it was so washed out and dim looking, even on max brightness and calibration. VA also has a wash out from side viewing angles. If you want bright and beautiful colors from no matter what angle you are viewing the monitor from, go IPS IMO. The VA panel I returned was the new Acer Predator 27’ 2560x1440 240Hz .5ms response time for $299.99 from microcenter. The specs sound amazing, but the monitor looked like it had a dimming filter on it next to my other two monitors. I ended up going with a 32’ Asus Tuf 2560x1440 170Hz IPS panel instead and I absolutely love it. At first I was worried it would be too big for gaming since I always have used 27’ but I can honestly say 32’ is an amazing upgrade and will not hinder your view at all

TN = competitive gaming especially FPS, VA = casual gamers who loves the best graphic output, IPS = VA graphic alike but not quite there & quite close to TN response time but still not there yet.

An outstanding explanation and stunning visuals to boot, thank you sir! I will go ahead with a VA panel, as planned... non-gamer, but would like high contrast and deep blacks for occasional movie watching, but don't want to waste/burn in an OLED with day-to-day monitor use.

Do OLED panels manage 125hz mice polling better than LCD? Less stutter because of pixel response time?

Nice video, I went with the VA panel cause I can’t stand when black is more of a grayish color. Good explanation of each panel 👍

I have a va panel, is there any settings that you know some monitors have that could reduce the ghosting, response time? Also when gaming i use hdmi 2.0 I think that transmits 18gbps of bandwidth, anyway, if I reduce the bandwidth usage for example using a lower resolution, will that reduce my input delay or make my game run any smoother?

Very useful video! I'm only playing FPS games on PS5 and can't decide between VA or IPS - As an example, between a Gigabyte G27QC (curved VA) vs Gigabyte G27Q / M27Q (IPS), which one would you recommend? Thanks boss!

@TechteamGb Can you give me advice please? I have 2500-3000 dollar max for monitor. I've RTX4090. Which 4k monitor is optimal for me with high refresh rate and crispy gaming? I like competitiv games, MMORPGS, and almost all other games. Mainly competitiv FPS and MMORPGS. I would go to 32" or higher inch monitor. I've 27" inch now FULL HD (Acer, but notl ike it). Thanks for

I’ve grown up using Twisted Neumatic (TN), In-Plane-Switching (IPS) and Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technologies and for good value monitors you can get cheap IPS monitors which are terrific for everything and OLED, despite it’s expensive outlay and burn-in has awesome colour reproduction and HDR like no other and definitely way better than IPS. Definitely avoid TN at all costs due to poor colour reproduction, worse lighting and clarity as well as bad viewing angles.

I just got an OLED TV, but I can't wait for QD-MicroLEDs to become a thing. Unless OLEDs can get a little brighter and reduce the risks of burn in.

Any advice on fast response time 1440p 27 inch? I have the pixio 277 prime and its decent but a little slow, I've seen a DELL monitor that looks promising but it's a maybe

OLED advantages:
1. Has faster response time than TN by a little bit and IPS by a wide margin
2. Has the best color accuracy
3. Has the best motion clarity
4. Has the best viewing angles
OLED disadvantages:
1. The most expensive panel you can get
2. Risk of burn in on cheap panels

TN advantages:
1. The cheapest panel you can get
2. Better response time than IPS
3. Good motion clarity but worse than OLED's
TN disadvantages:
1. Terrible color accuracy
2. Has not so good motion clarity
3. Terrible viewing angles

IPS advantages:
1. Cheaper than OLED
2. Color accuracy is better than TN
3. Better viewing angles than TN
IPS disadvantages:
1. Backlight bleed
2. Slower response time than TN and OLED
3. Little to no motion clarity (feels blurry on unfocused areas when moving in FPS)

VA advantages:
1. Cheaper than IPS
2. Has better response time than IPS
3. Has better color accuracy and viewing angles than TN
VA disadvantages:
1. Slower response time than TN
2. Not so good color accuracy and viewing angles than IPS
2. Not so good color accuracy than IPS
