It has been just over 500 years since the fall of Tenochtitlan, and whereas this fascinating Aztec city full of canals and bridges has been lost to time, one significant structure still survives today.

This is the Templo Mayor, once a towering pyramid crowned with two temples. Today however it lies in ruins but is still fascinating to explore as you can weave your way around this multi layered building that was the heart of the old Aztec capital.

Words are inadequate in stating the enormity of the loss of a once great city and it's people and their culture. Our people, the Cherokee, extend our sympathy.

There are still a lot more then the templo mayor. All over the city still exist ruins. For example there are some temples, and sculpted stones in Tlatelolco, cuicuilco, pinosuares, Xochimilco, milpalta, Iztapalapa, etc, ect, etc. Practically if you excave enough on any part of the city, there will be arqueololical stuff.

It was Enoch (tENOCHtitlan) who built that City, the first city in the world. Son of Cain and Awan. That place was called Nod in the bible.
