How to beat Ornstein and Smough

Smough is weak to lightning and resists fire.
Ornstein is weak to fire and resists lightning.

I find Super Ornstein a lot easier to deal with - he also drops the Leo Ring, which is very nice with halberd thrusts. This was actually the first time I ever bothered fighting them solo, interestingly enough. If somebody as terrible at PvE as me can do it, anyone can.

The reason that this fight was hell for my first time was because of how fucking glitchy Ornstein's dash attack is. He just randomly stops and turns corners and continues it.

wow they acted totally different when i fought them. ornstein would get sorta stuck between smough and his hammer so that they were never seperated. made it nearly impossible to kill them 1v2

The wrost thing about this bossfight is I KNOW I can beat these pieces of shit, but ornstein's fucking attacks are so annyoing, I'm having so much trouble predicting how to roll trough them

Every single fucking time I use humanity to regain human form to summon solaire to help me, a fucking player comes in my word and kills me or solaire. pls, stahp

i got frustrated to the point where i went and ramped most of my stats in the painted world, and got the great lightning spear, then i walked in and took smough out super fast, now im kinda stuck bulldozing smough and having trouble with mega ornstein

Have you tried stacking poise? Using a halberd? And if all else fails, you can always summon other players to help you with the boss.

How the bloody hell do you do that?! ive been trying this with quelaags furrysword for like 3 hours now, im down to 2 humanity and I always get buttraped by super orenstien, i even bought a lightning resist ring but It does nothing to help

Challenge runs were never really my thing - I did a SL1 run, but I've never done a no healing run. Still, now that I'm done with the videos on how to easily kill bosses, perhaps I'll try something more crazy like... I dunno, killing NG+ Artorias with firebombs and no healing, or killing Manus with the set of thorns.
