Sonic Unleashed Boost Speed vs Generations Boost Speed (No Upgrades)

First off, I love these games equally, so my comments should not seem like they're against Unleashed or Generations. They're both great games, but my gripes are more about the player base.

I'm tired of seeing people whine about Generations' "slower base boost speed" when comparing it to Unleashed. It's actually marginally faster than Unleashed, but the camera is more zoomed out and less fisheye, so it feels faster in Unleashed. I lined up the boosting in this clip to start at the same time, and I have no upgrades unlocked in this new Unleashed account, as I'm playing on my Xbox One, not 360. Generations is not using skills either, and the scaling of the Unleashed Project is EXACTLY like the scaling of Unleashed.

Even if generations is faster at base speed I think Unleashed gives the illusion of being faster.

I forgot to say: Generations is the one on the right, Unleashed is on the left. I found that Generations has a higher base boosting speed but Unleashed has a higher rail-boosting speed, so the comparison came really close.

Something to note is that in only Unleashed, collecting rings increases your speed. Considering that you collect hundreds of rings in the daytime stages, its probable that Unleashed sonic will eventually outpace Generations.

Unleashed actually has a higher top speed than generations. The thing is generations has a much higher acceleration when boosting. Notice how in unleashed after getting off the rails sonic slows down as you can see in the speedometer thing, while in generations he never slows down

Unleashed is technically faster and slower at the same time. Collectings rings increases your top speed in Unleashed, however only Rooftop Run and Jungle Joyride can properly show the difference since they're the only stages with a high ring count

I knew it!!! got tired of hearing Unleashed was faster than Gens. I knew they were about the same.
also I wonder if you can do a fully upgrades comparison and give gens sonic Speed up and Acceleration?

Both run in the same engine most likely the speed of Both are the same the difference is the level design in unleashed support speed than platforming and It's level design more linear but generations support platformer challanging speed multiple passways(Better level design in my opinion) which why everyone think unleashed is faster It's becouse of the level design

At least it doesn't smear the game in stationary Generations (as opposed to 3DS Generations) as much as it does in 7th gen Unleashed (as opposed to Wii/PS2 Unleashed)

Unleashed Speed nerf itself don't let them trick you. Sonic generation doesn't have a lot of Restrictive 3D sections compared to unleashed where they slow you down 1200-767mph. If you play Chun-nun thenyou get unrestricted Sonic moving at 3000mph. Makes sense since Sonic isn't the type to do that when people are nearby in retrospect. Also Sonic gen is a mod so of course Sonic speed isn't restricted.

So, with no upgrades you also mean his Speed Level on lv 1? Which would mean that Generations is just as slow as base Unleashed Sonic... (Unless you put Speed Items, don't know how faster it could get compared to a Maxed Level Speed Sonic Unleashed)

I noticed that you didn’t upgrade Sonic’s speed to max in Unleashed. I highly suggest you do that when comparing the speed to Generations because I’m pretty sure Unleashed Sonic runs faster than Generations Sonic when he’s at max speed.

Generations has a slightly higher top speed and for me feels faster too, i prefer the game overall but unleashed isn’t bad either, I give it close 2nd place for my fav sonic games ever
