JD Vance is NOT from Appalachia. He never lived there. He was born and raised in Ohio. His mother had lots of drug problems. Some people might even refer to his mother as trailer trash (as depicted in the movie "Hillbilly Elegy.") His grandmother raised him because his mother was always on the streets doing drugs. She was an absent parent and drug addict.
