We put my bulldog to sleep not too long ago, and Bulldogs always have a place in my heart. They're great dogs. The health issues may put you off to getting one, but they truly are great dogs

I have 2 Bullies. I have had no health problems with either of them. I do wash their faces/folds daily. They are the most loyal & loving breed I've ever owned. I don't know if I could ever live without a bulldog, now that I've owned them.

My Mom had an English Bulldog, he died, but he was an awesome dog and a very good companion.

These always bum me out at the health section when they're like "oh and the dog is made of paper and will prob explode if you touch it".

If you've ever seen the show Museum Secrets they had an episode where they talked about the evolution (or de-evolution if you will) of the bulldog from the athletic, powerful dogs they were in the past to the modern incarnation.

Breeders are now trying to breed them back to the old standard, so they will have an easier time breeding, breathing, and a higher standard of living. They want to make the snout go back out (it's really flat right now) and for them to look more like the Olde English.

They are the most affectionate and loving breed. You will not be disappointed by bringing one into your family.

Bulldogs have so much personality! They may be tough and stubborn, but they are one of the best kid friendly dogs around!

I used to work a summer job at a farm stand harvesting produce, pulling weeds and trimming flowers. The owners of the place had two English Bulldogs named Winston and Sophie. Sometimes when the weather wasn't too hot they'd come out and hang out with me as I worked, but for the most part they just hung out inside where it was nice and cool.

They're such sweet dogs! It's just a massive shame that breeders have bred them so much to the point that they have an endless list of health concerns. **sigh**

So cute, but it's insanely cruel that we continue to breed them. Riddled with health issues. 6 to 8 year life expectancy. Sad.

I’ve had English Bulldogs for the past 20 years and they are the sweetest, most loving animal that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, My dog passed away this New Years and I was completely heartbroken because Bulldogs become very attached to there owners and they are very loyal. If your looking to purchase one, please make sure you understand everything you can about there health and keeping an English Bulldog. They are amazing and great with children.
