Paul Maurice, Panthers Postgame - Stanley Cup Final, Game 5: Vegas Golden Knights 9, Florida 3

Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice speaks after his team’s season came to a close with a 9-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 of the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Final.

The Golden Knights won the series 4-1 and won the Stanley Cup for the first time in their franchise’s history.

Florida ended up losing all three games in Vegas and remain winless all-time at T-Mobile Arena.

The Panthers opened the playoffs by upsetting the Boston Bruins in 7 games before then beating Toronto in 5 and Carolina in 4 to reach the Final for the second time in franchise history and first since 1996.

Proud of my team. We didn't win the cup, but we got way farther then anyone expected us too. We're going to have a great team for the next couple of seasons. We need to adjust the defense for sure. Maurice is the right coach for the job.
