Paul Maurice, Panthers Playoff Postgame - R2, G3: Florida 3, Toronto Maple Leafs 2 (OT)

The Panthers now lead the series 3-0 and can sweep the Leafs on Wednesday in Game 4. Florida is back in Sunrise for that game on ESPN.

Florida has won its past six playoff games — with three of them in OT — after rallying from a 3-1 deficit to knock off the Boston Bruins in the opening round.

The Panthers now lead this best-of-7 series 3-0 as they have won their past five road playoff games as well.

On Sunday, the Panthers came back from deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 on goals from Anthony Duclair and Carter Verhaeghe.

Sam Reinhart won it in overtime.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 22 saves for his sixth consecutive win in net.

When flagging in Winnipeg on Paul Maurice’s street during road construction I was lucky enough to have Paul stop at my station. He kindly took the time to have a pleasant conversation with me and sign my hard hat. The Jets had just been eliminated by Nashville in the playoffs. He was obviously bothered by this but still took the time to make this fan’s day. Go Florida !

Positive reinforcement works better when ur players are playing well. He is snowballing this passion properly. He isn’t over coaching things now. Keefe is cooking with a scrambling processor… and it is absolutely gross.

Maurice's experience of coaching toxic locker rooms and underachieving teams to good finishes and playoff appearances has culminated in the perfect coach to get this Florida team cooking. Compare this to Keefe, who has yet to make a good decision in the entirety of the playoffs.

Once the playoffs starts. There certain things players must DO Or else you'll get the outcome the Leafs are experiencing Now.
Anyways it is what it is now.
Is not my job to implement winning tactics and to use psychology tactics on the players now. PERSONALLY I would of thought after all this years the Leafs would off understand and Learn...

To me-the most risky and potentially best decision he made was starting Alex Lyon against the Bruins for the first three games I believe, which seemingly has lit a fire under Bobobrovsky-both ex Flyers goaltenders as I am a flyers fan. “Bob” has always had the talent and would love to see him put it altogether for this playoff run. Go Panthers!

Maurice's coaching career-resigned twice, fired twice. He is a very demanding coach when making requests to the front office. Panthers is the 5th HC gig for Maurice in the the NHL.

Full marks to Maurice, who got the team to buy into a playoff style mode about 8 weeks ago to get into the playoffs. Just in time, because things were bleak in late January. Now they're on a serious roll, and some say it reminds them of the St Louis Blues run of 2019. To knock off 2 of the top 6 ranked teams one after another is really impressive. Take the Leafs out on Wednesday (they will likely put up too little resistance), and hope Devils run Carolina into the ground in a longer series.
