The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 1.21 - the Tricky Trials Update!
In today's video, we fly out to preview a new project area - but find an even faster way to get back! Boats sliding on ice are capable of travelling faster than even a player with a rocket-boosted Elytra, and Blue Ice lets you reach speeds up to 72 blocks per second!

Little note for people, advice I picked up from watching Etho. Placing rails on ice doesn't effect the speed of boats while also spawn proofing, so if you feel like you may ever want to move mobs via rail through the nether, planning ahead when building your roads would save you that effort later at the cost of using more materials. Might not be worth doing if you change worlds often, but if you plan on playing one world for several years, it'll probably come up eventually.

Having a full warp tunnel where you get in the boat in the overworks and never leave it till your at your destination is pretty cool, seems very space travel like

When the emeralds start flowing I'll always pick up Blue Ice or Packed Ice from the wandering trader whenever it is in stock.

Pixlriffs, thanks for not doing this on the roof. Being mostly a bedrock player, doing this in space just below the roof is so nice. I've been just using rail, but I'm might consider ice at this point.

one of the many great things about expansive minecraft worlds, you can always set up and found new builds/civilizations anywhere, even if they themselves grow to kilometers, love doing that :D in fact i've found a similar area myself to do so lol

Hey Pixlriffs! been an avid watcher of this series for quite some time now, but I have a slight suggestion. Have you considered putting the episode number in the thumbnail? Since the title of the episodes is so long, I often don’t know which episode I’m on until I click on the video. Thanks for the education/ entertainment! I love ice boat roads. I was lucky enough to spawn in close to a vast frozen ocean in my current world, and building overworld ice roads has been so relaxing. I play peaceful mode, so this has been a brilliant option for fast travel.

It would be super cool to transition to a river once you come into the overworld on the boat from your ice road in the Nether. Kind of another reminder of the differences between water mechanics between the dimensions. You’d lose some speed of course, but it would be worth it for the vibes in my humble opinion.
