On the subject of the American Founding Fathers being Christians, yes it is accepted by the vast majority of historians that the majority of them were Christians. With exception of Thomas Paine the writer of the infamous Pamphlet Common Sense, Benjamin Franklin and others. Thomas Jefferson the writer of the Declaration of Independence was probably a Christian but near the end of his life. His earlier writings are more Deistic/Humanistic in nature with Christian Influence, however this is common for the day with many such enlightenment ideas were popular at the time. As for George Washington, it is unclear, there are good arguments on both sides (the only sides being Deist or Christian), his own private beliefs are speculative, so unknown.

Really enjoyed this one, I think the idea of representation as it relates to population size is an argument that resonates today even in our non-American democratic systems. The 3/5ths compromise is really interesting, I'd only loosely heard of it but I feel like it's generally portrayed as "a person of colour only has 3/5ths of the rights of a human being", when here it seems more like "a person of colour has no rights as a human being, but we will allow their owners to steal 3/5ths of their value as a person to use as political power."

I feel like I'm probably off in my understanding of this one, so if anyone's reading this, please feel free to correct me. My gut feeling is that the 3/5ths compromise comes to mean something different as we move towards the 20th century.

The general population is as uneducated on national(international) political/economic matters as it was back then and will always be. They can freely participate in local matters, but should never be allowed to deal with national matters. Also Populism is always a harbinger of a declining society, not a form of reform or empowerment.
