Have owned my ASX MR for a month now and love it. Seeing you off-road in it has given me ideas. Didn't know she was capable of a bit of light off-roading. You're the only reviewer who hasn't completely bagged out the car. I love the fact the ASX is as basic as you can buy in 2024 and my 85 year old father has no issues with the gizmos. Plus a real handbrake!!!

This is how reviewers should drive the cars they review

quintessential aussie car review - no fking around. Does it go? Does it go over some of the shittiest roads in the world? Is it cheap? Is it reliable? If ticks to all the above, then on ya! Love it.

G'day it's Steven here

It's great to hear more Aussie voices on YouTube.

Also your factual and unique take in your reviews is credible and interesting.

Clearly you're a skillful driver and I was impressed by your rally inspired driving, it also takes me back to Mitsubishi's rally winning days.

There's no doubt in my mind why this vehicle has been so hugely popular however I would've loved to have seen the more powerful GSR or Exceed being tested.

Looking forward to more Mitsubishi reviews in the future.

The ASX in Australia is still one of the few Japanese brand models actually made in Japan.

I have got the Mitsubishi ASX 2019 and it’s still running like a dream.

All I changed was the Bluetooth radio to a CarPlay Screen with 360 degree camera to record all my driving . So you can have a simple car and just add one cool feature to it. Adding the 360 Cameras and Car Play screen cost me about $1500 including installation but it’s made my simple ASX even better and I can watch Netflix and YouTube in the car . I set the cameras to show my blind spot whenever I indicate and it’s made parallel parking a breeze now. It’s a very simple comfortable car and it goes well off road and on road. I have taken my car through the desert in the Middle East and it did a great job. I’m very happy with my car and not planning to change anytime soon .

Sister inlaw brought one 4 years ago and I thought it was flimsy shopping cart, but it’s served her perfect. She’s not quite throwing it around the forest like you, but it’s unpretentious, does the job, and hasn’t asked for anything other than fuel and while she does big Milage I can’t see it stopping anytime soon.
She’s always been a badge snob but maintanence was killing her….she now dosent care what peole think 😊

That cvt noise at full revs I bet she’s never heard tho

Mitsubishi is reliable for us, our family drive asx, outlander and lancer for 10 years never have problem, yes they are not the flashiest with tech gadgets but I would take reliability anyday than some fancy gadgets

"If you pay attention and do the driving yourself, you'll be fine". LOL .... yep. Who would have thought hey?

Great review, mate - nice one setting up all those shots, they certainly paid off!

Simplicity is so underrated. The whole auto industry needs to wake up to themselves and stop listening to tech fetishists.

We had a 2017 ASX and last year upgraded to a new one. They are a great all round car as well as value for money.

And when you are done beating up on it if it needs parts or repairs there are Mitsubishi dealers everywhere including most country towns unlike the Chinese where parts and resale are a problem.

Love my GSR! The 2.4 makes a big difference.

Wife bought this car ex-demo 2021 w/ 10, 000km on it. it's now at 95, 000 and it hasn't missed a beat, decent size, good boot space, 750km on a tank, has car play, for $25k with 7-years left on a 10-year warranty. there's not really much more you can ask for. It's a triple B car. Basic. But. Bulletproof.

Very nice review and not just based on how many features a car should have. It’s simple and reliable and has all the necessary features required, has a reversing camera, an 8 inch screen and decent storage. You buy a car and can then have years of peace of mind and not worrying about where can you find the spare parts if required…

Well Mitsubishi must be doing something right if this car still is popular as ever. Sometimes people just want uncomplicated car that's not full of really annoying beeping and bonging I love how some people whinge about it not having a digital Speedo or not having cross traffic alert or this noise or that noise. How do you think people drove before that we use their eyes. We use the mirrors. Sometimes simplicity is better. Only thing I'd probably buy it in the manual, not the biggest fan of CVT

Can you try and source an ASX with the bigger 2.4? Curious to know how well that goes.

Good to hear some commentary 👍. Statement of the year too in relation to driver monitoring bings and bongs on so many other newer designed cars … “if you actually pay attention to the driving, you’ll be fine ..” 😂👏👏👏

I do hate the CVT in this car and the complete lack of sound insulation though … but I get it, the majority of owners don’t care for flooring it most days …
