Cannon to recuse herself after the New York Times reported that in June 2023, shortly after being assigned to oversee Trump’s classified documents case, Judge Aileen M. Cannon was urged by two experienced colleagues, including Chief Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga, to pass the case to another judge.
