One of my biggest problems with consumerism is that people are doing this ALL the time; they're creating solutions to problems that literally did not exist and then trying to convince you the problem existed. I got an ad for a fucking phone case that has a holder for lip gloss on the back last night and I was like.... Nobody, not a single fucking soul asked for this. Not once has any human being said "man I really wish my lip gloss was on the back of this".

I feel like a unique aspect about techbro scammers is that they usually 100% buy into their own grift. Extremely little self-awareness, just all in on the "move fast and break things" mentality, and if there's any signs of something going critically wrong with the product they just kind of memory-hole it and pretend that it's not happening. It's as if something fundamental about their worldview would shatter if they acknowledge that they're doing something shady and so they just choose to keep the blinders on and proceed forward at all costs.
