I still remember watching digimon with my brother as kids around 12 years ago, everytime I hear this song just makes me tear up and the nostalgia wave hitting me. Thank you for playing it

Tri has its problems...Oh Boy does it have its problems. But I still enjoyed it. And Last Evolution was a great way to wrap it all up.

I grew up loving Digimon's Anime more than Pokemon's. But I grew up specifically on the dubbed version on Fox Kids.

Fast forward years later when Digimon Tri happened and this rendition of Butterfly played, I teared up. I knew OF the song, heard it countless times over the years, but when this version played at the very end of the final movie?

Tears.

I felt nostalgia for a song I didn't associate with the version I grew up with. But I knew the story of Koji Wada, how important he was to the series as a whole...and this version with the entire cast paying tribute to him? Perfection.

Hearing this song just makes me think of Wada Kouji. It just makes me sad and I always cry everytime I hear one of his songs. A beautiful soul, never forgotten.

So I know Tri has it's bumps, but like... as someone who grew up with Jetix / Fox Kids, and longer since it was on for a while in South America, knowing Butterfly in spanish as it was the opening? The ending of the last movie just hit so well

For anyone curious where digimon is at the moment there are 2 things in japan:

1. the tv series is called ghost game and it directed by the guy who did the adventure 2020 series first half (before tai got metal greymon), he left to make this series and he was inspired by ghost stories and digimon tamers (3rd series).

2. The current digivice toy is called the Vital Bracelet. A watch that you put on your wrist that has a sensor to measure your pulse. This toy had digimon, kamen rider and ultraman characters that you transform as you exercise more. There is currently 2 digimon versions and a new 3rd version coming this year; which gets rid of the v1 and v2 restrictions and lets you use any series, digimon or not on it.

- the v3 vital bracelet also introduces my hero academia characters and demon slayer characters on release.

- all vital bracelets are compatible with the mobile app of the same name (which has english text option) where you can upload your digimon to the app and battle other digimon around the world.

Also the vital bracelet is starting it's global release this year as well, the device shipped is the version 2 which has better support.
