Beyond the very basics, all we know about skying, my wife and myself, comes from Darren Turner's Ski School videos. We started watching this channel long ago, and each time we go back skying, we watch again some key videos and study a few advanced topics. Even when on a ski slope, nowadays, we sometimes refer to what Darren told as the correct method. I guess it is not easy to chance upon such an eminent teacher in any alpine ski station.

I live in minnesota so i only have hills but i go to copper mountain in colorado a week every year i am expert but it is hard to learn as quickly without stuff like slopes or advanced terrain parks. I am going to ski when the ski hills open up and use your videos they seem like they would help a lot. I have skimmed through your intermediate videos and it is stuff that i have already learned so i moved onto advanced and i am learning a lot... THANK YOU SO MUCH

Normally I like Darren's instruction, but I'm afraid the suggestion to "push the back" of the skis may only ingrain a defensive tail-push habit. A very simple and direct alternative is to tip and flatten the inside ski, letting the outside ski's engaged big toe-side edge take over. Unlike pushing the tails, tipping the inside ski will never have to be "unlearned, " but will actually become an essential move for high performance parallel skiing.
