My mindset on this stuff is either it's all okay or none of its okay. If it's alright to make sailor moon black then it should be alright to make miles morales white too, and if isn't alright then don't do it. Really the only people that annoy me is the people who gets upset at certain race swaps but defend when they do it..

This topic wouldn't piss me off so much if it was both ways. Make a black Sailor Moon if you don't get pissed when I draw Storm from the X-Men as a white woman. Want to make Bruce Wayne half white, half asian, okay fine, don't get pissed with my half white half Mexican Static Shock. And historical characters. Want to make Sir Issac Newton Indian and possibly bisexual, then don't bitch and moan when I start funding my movie where Harriet Tubman is played by a thin attractive white woman in a halter top and daisy duke shorts.

I agree that in the spirit of art, draw or create whatever you like. If it pleases you in the joy of creation, then it is good work. That alone is good. Take pride in what you've built with your hands and not for pride's sake.

I would draw and paint fictional characters in green clothes with green hair and eyes, treating them like fighting game characters. If I want to change the skin color, that is up to me.

If I could draw I'd be drawing every human character I like as fictional fantasy races. They would have different heights, skintones, outfits, etc.
