🔮 About this video:
Since the material design revolution, we have been stuck with various versions of the modern-minimal style. Nice, rounded edges on everything, soft, colorful shadows and subtle, pretty gradients. But the fact that Neubrutalism exists makes me happy, because we do need alternatives in UX design.

Neo brutalism is also quite democratic. It often uses shapes styled in a default presentation software way like Keynote or Powerpoint.

That way of styling normalizes the ugly and makes it easier to approach for beginners - they'd be thinking "I could do that myself!" and I believe this is the exact reasons some brands went with this style. It's non threatening and anyone could do it. As far as UX/UI design trends go, this one is really interesting and worth exploring next to Neumorphism, Glassmorphism, Aurora UI and Modern Minimal.

We talk about this style based on great examples from @Figma and @Gumroad

I'm currently working on a board game heavily inspired on old classics like Sim City 2000 and Transport Tycoon. I arrived to Neubrutalism since it provokes a deep nostalgia effect while looking bold and new at the same time. This video made extremely happy I'm in the right direction, plus I learned a lot, thanks!

While this style I can't see being used by many brands, it is a nice change of scenery as most brands are starting to look and feel similar. This will definitely help the brands that can utilize it, stand out more.

Finally something about Neubrutalism, it just puts me into a mix of both nostalgia and a modern art sort of vibe, I agree the contrast and accessibility issues are there, but it's really a nice change, especially when every modern landing page has a big hero image on the either side and text besides it, thanks for covering it in depth 🙂 looking forward to the tutorial you mentioned. :)

Fun stuff!
I personally enjoy exploring different design styles. Keeps it fresh and interesting.

Side note, I'm not too sure if I have mentioned this, but your video editing style is very entertaining. Even prior to this electric Neubrutalism vid.
All the transitions, memes, clips, colors, animations...they make for an easy watch.

it's like a fusion between the clashing shapes and colors of the 80s with the fun and chaotic/diverse oriented from that flat corporate style

Interesting video, thanks. Always great to go deep on new trends. Even if I may not go all in neubrutalist, it's given me a bunch more tricks to think about to really draw focus to different elements.
As for when to use it, I agree it works well for creators, but like other commenters I think it would also be great for a brand with a young target audience with words like "bold" and "fun" as their goal. In that case, I could see it working for coffee brands, beers, fashion...

I'm actually interested in trying out this design style. It feels like it could work really well with anime, comic book or video game designs projects. Thanks for making this video

I think Neubrutalism proves the need to understand our clients a bit deeper. Two companies, of the same category and the same target group, might have different POVs on what expresses them best and brings them closer to their audience. To me it seems like every style is a tool matching to a specific case and nothing is - truly - ever outdated.

Interested to see though the percentage of the market that is bold enough to try something different to what the competition follows... 🤔

Once again, good job!

At the end of the day, a trend is a trend, taste is subjective.
What really matters is if it is usable or not, if the trend does not get in the way of UX, it might work and survive the "trend tag".

Personally, I really won´t use unless a client asks for it, and ther should be a really good reason for it besides "Because i like/want it".
