Idk why everybody's complaining... you set your expectations way too high. Of course he doesn't sound the exact same as Layne, THEY'RE NOT THE SAME PERSON
But William's a great singer in his own right. These songs are fucking hard to sing and still he nails them, night after night.

Jerry's solo is kickaxe, and how his voice carries the final lyrics is crazy, Layne might have had one of the best voices ever, but jerry cantrell truly is the core of alice in chains

William does a great job. Perfect pick! He doesnt look or try to look like Layne. Which almost every replacement singer gets accused of. William just does himself and becomes his own rockstar persona in his own right. He sounds great. He's not Layne which NOBODY IS. Cuz Layne is DEAD. So you find a replacment who can sing the songs and be authentic to who he is as a person and love music and being in the brotherhood of the band and you just keep going. My hats off to them. They all sound great. And NO band sounds exactly like the records. Even with the original singers.

Been a fan since they came out we lost Layne they went on a really really long hiatus came back with Duvall. Layne was irreplaceable but Duvall is as close as you can come to Layne there's literally no one else that can come close to filling those shoes

people really expect one person to sound like another person, and even someone who died young... Duvall is 50+, and u expect HIM to SOUND LIKE LAYNE, THAT TOO YOUNG LAYNE? First hes not Layne, second Hes not young! THINGS GET TOUGH AS YOU GROW OLD. LOOK AT EDDIE VEDDER, SERJ TANKIAN, THEY ARE STILL GREAT BUT CHANGE IS NOTICEABLE. THOM YORKE TOO. And for his age, Duvall is doing a great job, hes WILLIAM DUVALL, and hes great. Yall dont know better than Jerry, Sean And Mike, THEY DID A GREAT JOB HAVING WILLIAM DUVALL! And also whats with... Hes not layne but hes just as Great. You dont need to mention that hes not Layne. everyone knows hes not layne. Cant we appreciate the man without mentioning Layne?
Duvall is not Layne but Layne is not Duvall. Duvall is Duvall, Layne Is Layne. Please appreciate the musicians.
