The olympics are coming up and there is an interesting tie in to the dead zoo and john yeats his son jack B yeats was the first gold medalist for the irish olympic team. You may ask what sport did he win the gold medal in was it athletics, swimming, rowing, tennis, cycling none of the above he wasn't an artist indulging in his sporting hobbies it was actually painting, because back then there was competitions for every thing imaginable these days they are some competitions that seem more art than sport like rhythmic gymnastics, ice dancing and synchronised swimming but then it was even more blurred.

Thanks for the tips! We are planning to visit Dublin in the Fall and looking forward to our visit. We have been following your channel for a while and plan to begin slow traveling around the world in a couple of years when we retire. You said you were in Dublin for two months. Were you pet sitting? I’m wondering how to make a long visit to Ireland more affordable. I believe it’s out of the Schengen. Thanks for your videos!

The Temple Bar Pub or any other Pubs in Temple Bar I would COMPLETELY avoid. Total rip off and not a real authentic pub scene. You can walk through the quarter and take pics of, but drinking I cannot recommend. If I ever go out in town, then I would prefer O'Neills in Suffolk Street, but any pub in the suburbs is even better to get an authentic atmosphere. Instead of Stephen's Green I would go few hundred metres down the road along the LUAS line, then turn left into Iveagh Gardens, this is a hidden gem of a park and less crowded.

We are going to Dublin for a 4 day stop over before we head to Portugal and Spain at the end of the month 😀. We will definitely do the botanical gardens and the parks and museums. We love art and outdoor walks, hikes and biking activities. Have to say though I’m looking for accommodations, hotels are really $$$. We are booked currently at Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge Dublin. It looks to be outside of the city center but it was one of the cheaper ones we could find. If you have any recommendations for better or more reasonably priced hotels/ air BnB’s please let us know. PS. We are planning to do one of the Camino De Santiago walks in the next few months so we subscribed and will be watching your Camino videos!
