His entire tone, mannerisms and over enthusiasm are disturbing signs that this did not happen the way he’s telling the story. I don’t know any person that would tell a story like this in a similar joking manner playing to the crowd and pointing out aspects to make them laugh and divert attention.

After a wine party (I don't drink wine) I took a shower and blacked out and woke up to my head hitting the soap dish and it look pretty much the same 😅

The same thing happened to me when my dad fell in my living room. I left the room for a minute and came back to find him on the floor. He was just learning to use a walker but failed. I could not get him up so I finally called for help. I was questioned as if I had done it. Meanwhile I still needed to get him off the floor.
