ebay sega saturn faulty repair

another faulty itmem brought of ebay. the seller said it had no power but when i opend it i found more faults. crashing and frezzing.

Great job glad you never gave up on it, i used to play daytona at my local arcade early 90's with a mate, did the caps fit in the case in the end or did you had to mod it a bit?

I have a Sega the same with power supply fault. I examined it and several components are burnt, so much so that I can not identify them. ZD101, ZD103 and R107. @ 4:22 - 4:23 There is also a faulty cap which I have swapped out. if you can throw any light as to the value of the components I can not identify it would be a great help...that is if you have not sold it on

recently got my old saturn from the basement and sadly it stopped working over the years. I opened in up and discovered that 5 of the black flat 3 pin parts near the controller ports went bad over the years.
for some reason removing them gives me more trouble than I anticipaded... I have some soldering experience (although not that much) and would be happy about any advice you could give me.
I think the main problem is that the parts have 3 pins and the solder is ledfree... mostly the first pin is already cold/hard again when I'm about to heat up the 3rd one. desoldering braid wasn't of much help either...

Moving lazer / red light isn't really reliable way of judging if the laser is working mate. My original saturn from when I was a kid does exact same thing but won't read discs
