And for those that don’t know banana trees only produce 1 bushel of bananas in its lifetime, sometimes consisting of 100 bananas and after that the trees basically useless so this is pretty neat

Fun fact: Banana trees are not trees. They're actually giant herbs.

In Vietnam we get banana clothing which is excellent in humid summer to absorb sweat.

In India, Banana has been historically considered one of the purest fruit. All parts of this fruit are used. Nothing is wasted from stems, flowers, leaves to the fruit itself

Boil the extracted fibers in a solution of water and soda ash or caustic soda. This removes impurities and starts the process of whitening the fibers.
After boiling, thoroughly wash the fibers with clean water and rinse multiple times.
If you desire a brighter white, you can use a natural bleach like hydrogen peroxide or sunlight exposure. Keep in mind that aggressive bleaching may weaken the fibers.
Beating:

Pound the fibers using a mallet or similar tool to soften them and make them fluffier. This helps to break down the fibers into a more cotton-like consistency.
Carding:

Card the fibers to further separate them and align in one direction. This is similar to how wool is carded before spinning. You can use hand carders or a drum carder for this.
Forming Balls:

Once the fibers are carded and have a fluffy consistency, you can tease them into ball-like shapes to resemble cotton balls.

In Asian's nations, there are no parts of bananas from roots to the tops are wasted as illustrated here as well as the banana leaves were being used as wrapping with flavorful aroma and resulted with light green yellowish pigments remains on the dough as of tamales..The fresh banana trunks closed t the centers are edibles and very delicious if one knows how to prepare properly, the outer parts of the trunks were tough to chew..They were finely chopped up to feed the 🐷🐖🐷..Banana flowers are darned expensive in 🇺🇸..It is also very tasty for making salads and other's yummy 😋 dishes..The branches of banana leaves were very tough and can be sun dried and used as tighten ropes..In short, banana bread are also very tasty and they R American's favorite for snacks or breakfast..In Asia, there are various types of bananas with different shapes and sizes of different flavors available in markets unlike in usa's territory only has LIMITED OF A FEW VARIATIONS..Period..

Plants are amazing. So much better than plastic. Bananas are fast growing and once the plant produces the bananas it's a stalk which can't ever produce any more bananas, so they are perfect for that "second life". Power to plants and please don't package them in plastic!

pretty much anything coming from plant material can be fermented to produce fibres. these can pretty much be used for anything involving fibre application .... they can even be made to leather... of course there is a difference of cellulose fibres and collagen fibres but ... won't be easily noticeable...

I think its time we put emphasis on sustainability and importance than depriving valuable rare resources like reptile skins etc. I see a good turn in world of fashion so far. This might be a good entrepreneural opportunity so far

In some parts of India, we cook those celery-like stalks and eat them.
