Many learner drivers who fail their test, do so, due to nerves. They can drive, but get nervous, because they are not sure of what to expect. Being afraid of the unknown is common. Understanding the exact word used by the examiner can be an advantage, THis is essential if English is not your first language.

As part of their training, driving examiners are given a manual that contains the exact words that they need to use.

Should be correct as "have been given permission to live in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) for at least 185 days."
