Circa 2000.. was in the Marine boot camp in San Diego. One of our DI's was from Kentucky.... and when smoked us sometimes, he would make us sing this. The last week of boot, he brought out a boom box and played this for fun. We all knew the words by then. He was hard, but fair. A few years ago, I was at a client dinner in Austin and this came on. I just smiled. Thank you Sgt Yabobson.

I heard this song on the radio the other day and it took me back to my first concert - Tim McGraw and Little Texas at a small-town Michigan fair in June 1995. I was just shy of 7 at the time so all I really remember is Tim doing this song for his closer and watching the stage go dark when he yelled “don’t forget to turn out the lights!” Lol

I still remember the first time I heard this song. Tim in concert at Southern Star Amphitheater at Six Flags over Georgia. I was a senior in high school there with my boyfriend (now husband). Tim sang it before the album was out and I never wanted a CD to be released SO bad!! Still LOVE that whole album! :)
