Note that installation of this much larger cooler requires removal of the case fan, but the overall cooling performance is better and noise will be much lower.

I'm considering this for my first attempt at billing a PC. Do you have any advice and will I need any specific tools or equipment to do the build (screwdrivers, thermal paste, etc)?

I expect I'll want to go with the 1650 GPU that you recommend for gaming ability as well as the aftermarket fan.

nice build for office. I wouldn't waste my money on an i5-10400/10600 tho, most obsolete CPUs of the year! AMD Ryzen is like 30-40% faster in applications and cheaper, as well as using way less power, which especially in office means every day you use a AMD Ryzen you save money. Get a Ryzen and a GPU if your Ryzen doesn't include Vega graphics (which btw. is way superior to Intel onboard graphics). I like Silverstone Raven case series, look nice and allegedly good cooling. Never owned one tho.

You failed to mention how the Noctua Cooler conflicts with the included case fan. A lower profile noctua cooler would be a better choice.

I just built a office pc for my father in law. It’s almost exactly the same build as this 😂 it has a 500gb Samsung nvme, 2TB barracuda, i5 10400 and 16GB ram for £600 all in with the other components.

My son (age 13) is mad keen on computers and has been wanting to build one for a while now, so we have bought the components for this build and I'm hoping its as straightforward to put together as you make it sound! Thanks for the excellent video and advice. One question - I bought the 2.9GHz i5-10400 processor (as it was a bit cheaper) - will this cause any problems, or do I need the faster processor for it to work?

Excellent video and description, thinking of building my first PC as I cant seem to find what I want off the shelf - I am unclear when it comes to video support however - would the built in video support two monitors at 2460 x 1440 resolution or would I need to look for a standalone video card to support that - I have two newer LG 32QK500C monitors and my current laptop/dock only supports one at that resolution through display port, the other is capped out at 1920 x 1080 using the remaining available HDMI connection. the unit is not meant for gaming, just typical office work such as spreadsheets word docs etc using many web based applications along with light publishing & image editing.

Hi Ari, recently manufacturers introduced a few Thin Mini-ITX motherboards with support for 10th generation Intel processors with Socket 1200 (i.e. ASRock H410TM-ITX or Asus Pro H410T/CSM).

Questions: Would you even consider any of those Thin Mini-ITX motherboards as a good base for your wife's home office PC while using i5-10400 combined with Alpenfohn Black Ridge or Scythe Shuriken 2?
