Joycon Disassembly Step By Step + Analog Stick Cleaning

(Updated version with the audio fixed)

If the initial paper fix didn't work for you, you might want to try this extra step and clean your analog sticks, this will improve even further the connection on the analog sticks

Buy a joycon repair kit here these are the same as I used in the video (isopropyl alcohol not included)
choose a kit with a screw driver 2.0 (you can see it on the picture)

Suddenly Cardboard has a high sell rate

Yesterday I fixed my original joycons that came with my switch on launch day. 1mm of cardboard or business card seemed to be too thick and less than 0.7mm was too little so I settled with 0.7mm. It's awesome playing with them again in skyward sword HD. Drift shouldn't have been a prob in the first place but Nintendo obviously never cared.

just wanna give big shout out to you, just pulled 6 joycons apart and shim them with paper cards thanks to your tutorial and explanation i was able to get those done, thanks for this method and i hope it lasts awhile before i have to do it again.

I wish you'd made mention of the fact that you can't merely tug to unplug the battery, or that you should keep track of the screw order, or that the internals of the joystick would shoot out all over the room after you're forced to break the metal plate because you chose to only show you removing the model with plating on one side that's easy to remove.

Nice. Thank you. But to be clear of all you want to do is apply cardboard fix no need to take joystick out. Once you get to the back of the stick it’s enough to simply put cardboard on and reseal right? Thanks.
