Sorry everyone but YOUTUBE does not stream in Dolby Atmos or Dolby Vision at this point in Google is working on something this year 2024

I can confirm 100% that my AVR is getting 7.1 Dolby.

I got a reply from dolby that was to do with "dolby atmos". Dolby atmos is not yet supported by youtube in 2024, 5.1 dolby digital surround and dts are supported.
5.1 Dolby surround is not dolby atmos, they are two completly different codecs. People are getting confused over this.
The lastest davinci resolved studio has dolby atmos integrated, and option to do 5.1.
So any videos that are on YouTube with dolby atmos will be in stereo.
And a 5.1 will eventually show as a ac-3 if YouTube detects your system can decode it.
Example my smart TV audio is via optical to a Sony theatre that decodes dts and dolby, the YouTube video nerd stats shows "ac-3" codec, same video playing on my computer shows "opus" since my computer does not have dolby codec installed, only plays stereo. Yet it can play 5.1 pc games.

Hey Charlie! awesome sound just on my lap top.Question? Im getting ready to bite the big one, buy the Sonos Ark, sub nini and 2 era 300 for the rear... Maybe add 2 more 300's for front L and R speakers later. Would this set up be adequate for music and movies (spotify & netflix)? All suggestions welcomed

doesnt show any pure 5.1 channel audio.. what im lisening is just stereo L/R, 2 channel audio. does youtube provide 5.1 channel audio?

Today I came to know one thing. I am having lg 4k Dolby digital plus tv. I connect it with my old 5.1 channel home theater through bluetooth in home theater. Then I played YouTube video of Dolby atmos and 5.1 channel. I select sound in tv as 'auto'. And it worked. I felt Dolby atmos surround music. There is no need to select 5.1 in YouTube; rather when I select 5.1 in YouTube; it was not giving effect rather volume reduced automatically and voice was coming like voice chock up. It means when you select auto sound in tv ; then you should not select 5.1 in YouTube. I came to know this thing today.

First Dolby atmos can't support 5.1 track, dolby Atmos track playing 5.1 you can feel atmos minimum 9.2.4 or above channel speaker feel just 20 to 40℅ only
